Loved the Omelet House, as it was my first time visit with my mother this weekend. It took us by surprise because we did not expect the eclectic ambiance, along with such a warm welcome when we walked through the door. I did not realize at the time, but the owner Kelly greeted us and brought us to our table. She made us feel welcomed and right at home. My mother is in a wheelchair, and I asked for a corner table, and there was ample room for both of us. What I loved most was the food. My mother had the burger and spuds, but it was enormous – perfectly cooked and on this glossy brioche bun. It was big enough to split in two. And then I had the Canadian ham and poached eggs served the traditional way as eggs Benedict. Now, I wanted to keep this post short, but I need to brag – quite honestly, my mother and I kept on saying how amazing it all tasted, as we were impressed on the size and flavor. The eggs were perfectly cooked with ham that was delicious in every way, and that hollandaise sauce I could have eaten by the spoonful. They are certainly not skimpy on the portions. Both meals were made to perfection.
And Lisa was our incredible waitress and made us feel so welcomed. In Vegas, everyone seems to go through a routine and do what they have to do to serve and wait on tables, but Lisa made it so personable that my mother and I felt so welcomed from the moment she came to our table. Even the young busboy, who was so gracious and kind to come to our table & was just as friendly and well spoken. (Meaning busboys don't traditionally interact with you, they just smile). That's a plus for me. They made us feel like we were part of the family. (It's the little things like that - that make it big for me.) I will be back again, and I rarely say that with restaurants. There are many restaurants who serve great food but with little attention to customer service. The Omelet House did that and more....
Read moreI'm a local who's always looking for a new place. I receive mailer coupons all the time for this place but because my hubby works graveyard & sleeps all day, we're aren't always able to dine there due to their short hours of operation. We did make it there today for breakfast. I've heard nothing but good things about this place. Even my son from CA heard about it & sent me a link to their website along with the reviews. My expectations were high. Hubby & I both ordered a 6-egg omelet, mine with chunks of carnitas, jalapeños, onions, cheese, what they call 'spuds' & toast - hubby's omelet was the Philly Cheese steak 6-egg omelet. Now let me say, we were both looking forward to the omelets.
The food was a let down. My omelet, the egg part itself , (not including the scoop of stuff they put inside) was way too thick. The pork was bland. It needed lots of seasoning. Obviously it was cooked bland & not seasoned before putting into the omelet & the red sauce they poured over the omelet did not go with the carnival & it was uneventful & the juice from that oozed over into the 'spuds' which made them soggy & unbeatable. The coffee was weak. Hubby was dissecting his omelet looking for his Philly steak meat -- there was some but it was a few pieces of meat & mostly mushrooms & barely a slice of cheese melted on top. I ate my toast & coffee & took home pretty much the whole omelet. Not sure if I'll fix it up at home for dinner or just trash it. I will have to say, the service there is exceptional. The gal came by filling our water & coffee on the regular & the other gal came to take the empty plates (the banana bread & toast plates) right away. I do want to come back & try the lunch items. The food looks great when comes to the table but it's the lack of taste &...
Read moreI am a USA road trip traveler from Virginia Beach, Virginia and favor owner/operated diners with counter-seating to eat.
I selected the Omelet House after discovering it is a local business started by 2 local gentlemen. The fact they have multiple locations made me hesitate, but better than than selecting a “corporate-saturated” line-up of locations.
My server “Dena” was super and the local customers were interactive smilers.
I can only speak for “my” breakfast selection - the scrambler with an order of country gravy to top the scrambler.
I immediately discovered their potatoes (“spuds”) reminded me of soggy potato chips. The next thing I noticed was my “scramble” was way too over-salted - LOTS of water water required due to then excessive salt.
I like their “MONSTER Challenges” of a 3 lb burger and a dozen-egg omelet, although not for me.
I would return, but avoid the “spuds” and hope the salt issue was a fluke - less salt OR just remove salt-shakers from tables.
The country gravy was way too thick for my liking - it was like a stack of gravy rather than a flowing gravy. I could eat the gravy with a fork off the top of my scramble.
This is not so much a “critical” review, as it is a “constructive-criticism” review.
I appreciate and thank server “Dena” for her smiles & efficient service 😃✌️.
