The view can't be beat, especially at sunset! Deluxe pizza was excellent (another example of the "Una" style thin crust that's popular in this area). Regular stromboli was super tasty. The appetizers we tried were straight from food reseller bag, though (fried pickles and mushrooms). Companion had grilled chicken salad and it was all gone when we left so I take that as a good sign! We also shared some hot chicken wings. There was a good amount of meat on them but neither of us cared too much for the taste of the sauce. We like heat AND flavor and this was mostly just heat.
Beer selection was good and they feature beers from Henderson Brewing Co so that was a huge plus! Local restaurants should include local beers in their selection...always.
All in all, what Rockhouse specializes in they seem to do well. And, that view!
UPDATE: Ate lunch here again today with a companion. I had the grilled chicken salad and companion had the club. Companion loves the club here! I have to admit, it did love mighty tasty. Only bit of oddness came when I was told the grilled chicken salad was today's special. I was going to order that anyway, so yay. I asked what "special" meant and was told it just gets me $1 off. Being hungry, and originally going to order the large salad, I asked if $1 off would apply to the large as well. Our server looked at me oddly and said, "Um, no." I didn't push the issue and ask the logical question of, "Why not?" I just got the small. Was still a little hungry when we left but them's the breaks. Not a big...
Read moreThe food is decent but it is SUSPICIOUS when a pizza place in 2025 makes the decision to not have their own delivery drivers. You are not ordering "from" Rockhouse when you get takeout or delivery, you're placing a ToastTab order that goes out to gig economy delivery apps like Doordash (hence the price hikes).
Consider me a grump but if I'm "buying local" I want the ability to make a simple phone call and say something like "hey my address makes GPS freak out, I'm at the corner of _ and _" and the person who's actually delivering knows, not hope on hope an overworked Doordash driver from Evansville sees the tiny delivery note I could leave.
Everything about how 'modern' restaurants like how Rockhouse has chosen to operate feels like an obsession with removing actual people from the equation.
"We can't take delivery orders over the phone" turns into never actually interfacing with a person, and you're giving some of your hard-earned money to two completely unrelated companies who did nothing but provide a website and underpay a third-party delivery driver.
I like the food, but this is a sharp dropoff from the version of Rockhouse I ordered two years ago like an honest-to-God pizza place with a couple decently-compensated 20-somethings zooming around town in their...
Read moreI'm shocked this place has a 4.6 rating! My experience goes from bad to worse. The pepper shaker on the table had some kind of funk on it (not clean). My wife ask for a glass for her beer, the chilled glass revealed finger prints inside AND lip prints around the rim! (I wonder what mine looked like before the beer was poured in). Then the food comes out. The bone in chicken wings were VERY fatty. I picked them apart and got enough meat from 6pcs to fill a shot glass. I gave the plate of fat and bones to the server and told her to tell management that was pathetic. As for the pizza, (since the wings provided nothing for hunger) I ate a piece. I've had better pizza from kroger (I'm serious). By the time we finished a slice of pizza and our beers, no one from management came out to see us. We had been to the Rockhouse a few times before at their old location. My wife liked it but I always found it mediocre. Be assured, this is the last time they will ever...
