First and foremost, this is what is WRONG with today's society. Y'all complain about not having money and being poor, yet you are going out to dinner instead of cooking at home. If you are splurging and going out for an occasion, plan ahead. Secondly, it is NOT ok to sit there and bash humans on their race, ethnicity. It is devastating that you have to even revert to these unforgiving tactics. Do not be mad that other people work harder to get what they want. Back to the review. My fiancé and I are both in our mid 30's. About 3 years ago, he started his own business which has been doing well due to his hard work. We have just relocated to this side of town and wanted to try out this place. After ready all YELP and Google + reviews (for good, or bad), we decided to try this place out. We were amazed with the overall appearance of the restaurant, and it was clean (un like other all- you can eat restaurants). We happened to be here on a busy night, but we waited (patiently). As soon as we were seated, our drinks were taken and with in minutes had an order going. Great vibe, decent priced drinks, and our over all AYCE experience was worth the $26.95. The Sake selection is on point and we appreciated our server going into detail about what would best accommodate our likes. Even though we got AYCE, we splurged and tried some of their ala carte dishes: (jelly fish, Monk Fish, Lobster plate). Well worth the extra price to pay for a little more authentic items. Being that we live so close, we are happy we found our go to sushi spot next to our favorite bar...
Read moreMy husband was hungry so I decided to go with him for a quick dinner somewhere close to home. It was Easter Sunday, at 10pm, and most of the places he considered eating at were closed. Finally, he decided to just go to a nearby 24 hour resto/bar, but as we approached the location, he saw an Open sign blinking and it was sushi. We've had sushi during the afternoon so I disagreed a bit about having sushi again the second time for the day, but he was really famished and needed something quick.
SUshi wa has really good ambiance. The place was fancy and cozy, good for dates. Food was not bad as well and their presentations make me not want to touch my plate because they look really pretty, yet the fusion of jap-am-korean was just too overpowering to my taste. Personally, I'm really into close-to jap sushi, not that I'm japanese or anything but I've had a jap bf before that's why I'm a little exposed to how the real thing tastes like. Overall, I would go back to Sushi Wa for the ambiance and entertainment if I had money to spare and if I was not craving for real sushi taste; otherwise, I'd go to Osaka just a few blocks nearby. Sushi Wa is a jap resto owned by koreans, if that matters, it does to me a bit. DInner for all you can...
Read moreIf it wasn’t for Garret, this would be a one-star review. The experience was disappointing, mainly due to the poor service. There was a large party, and my waitress clearly didn’t prioritize us. After finishing my first round of AYCE (All You Can Eat), I waited 46 minutes for my second round to even start showing up. It took over 30 minutes before she came back to take my order. Even worse, we didn’t receive most of the second order. Only 3 items arrived, and it wasn’t until Garret stepped in that he noticed the issue. He confirmed that my order hadn’t been placed and offered to help.
By the time we got our bill, the missing items finally arrived, but at that point, it was too late. It’s hard to judge the quality of the food since I didn’t receive most of what I ordered. What I did get wasn’t consistent: the salmon was questionable, but the garlic tuna and baby tuna were great. Unfortunately, we missed out on the sashimi, fish collar, and pork belly, among others.
At this point, I’m considering disputing the charge because I feel shortchanged. The more I reflect on it, the more I lean toward giving this a one-star rating. I’m not sure I’ll be...
