Las Vegas has many options when it comes to sushi restaurants, but by far, my favorite out of all I have tried is Kaizen Fusion Roll & Sushi, off Eastern Ave in the Green Valley/Henderson area. Admittedly, it's a very close tie between Kaizen and Sushi Kaya in Chinatown for the best sushi restaurant in Vegas, but because Kaizen is closer to where I live, it gets the award.

The sushi in Kaizen is absolutely fantastic. It's always fresh, tasty, and well made. Even their presentation is always on point, with dishes served in perfectly picturesque condition. Though Kaizen has a sister location very close to the Strip, off Paradise Road, I prefer the Green Valley/Henderson location far more simply because it has an All-You-Can-Eat menu and the Paradise location is a-la cart only. Thus, the Paradise Kaizen can be quite pricey, whereas it's rare for a dinner for 2 at the Henderson location to be more than $70 or $80.

And trust me, you'll want to do All You Can Eat (AYCE) at Kaizen just to sample all their amazingly delicious rolls (or at least as many as you can stomach). They have a wide selection of Nigiri, Sashimi, traditional rolls, baked roles, tempura rolls, and deep fried rolls. The AYCE menu also includes a wide variety of appetizers, salads, skewers, and other tapas-like dishes, as well as desert. (Though you usually will have eaten far too much to want any desert, ha ha.)

Some favorite rolls of mine are the sweet and spicy Dragon Roll, the Sweet Chicken Roll, the BBQ Roll, the Japanese Lasagna roll, and the crazy (yet delicious) Ice Cream In Your Mouth Roll (it's a sushi roll filled with deep friend banana, topped with strawberry and a sweet fruit sauce. It's basically a desert sushi roll. Very unique!).

The chefs at Kaizen always seem to strike the right balance of sauce on their rolls. Some sushi places can be heavy on their sauces (which I don't personally mind, but I know some do). And some places don't put enough sauce on them for my liking. But the saucing at Kaizen is always just right. I've yet to have a bad dish at Kaizen, and all the food I order is always well made and delicious. They also have a good selection of saki and beer to round out your meal.

The Henderson location isn't terribly big. Most of its interior real estate is occupied by a central bar, which I typically prefer to sit at. There are other tables lining the wall, so the restaurant is not lacking in seating, however, it can fill up pretty quickly at prime dinner/lunch times, especially on the weekends, so it's not unusual for there to be a substantial wait if you don't go at off hours. Also, parking can be a bit of a headache sometimes, as the lot of the shopping center in which Kaizen is located can fill up pretty quickly. However, there is always parking in the back-up lot behind Buffalo Wild Wings, if you don't mind a bit of a hike.

Kaizen is very clean and nicely decorated. They play charming K-Pop videos on a projection screen, giving the joint a fun vibe. TVs will often play sports, while occasionally you'll see some bizarre Japanese cooking show starring Gordon Ramsay, of all people, on the TV. The bathrooms are clean, and the atmosphere is nice and casual. Kaizen is great for date nights or for dining with small groups (more than 4 people need special seating). I have brought many visiting friends to this restaurant for dinner, and all of them have raved about how good it is. In my humble opinion, it is definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in Las Vegas (particularly AYCE sushi restaurants!). Kaizen also has a rewards program where you can earn a free meal by getting a card stamped each time you visit.

Kaizen in Henderson/Green Valley gets my highest recommendation, especially for sushi lovers and people looking for a great off Strip place to eat (though Sushi Kaya is closer to the Strip and easier for tourists to get to). The sushi here is top notch and affordable, so definitely give it a shot if you're a sea food lover. It's better than any sushi joints in the casinos, and a fraction...

This review is actually upsetting for me to write, as I have dined here MANY times and have had mostly nice experiences. However, this past Saturday was the first time I had dined with my son (who was asleep in the carseat the entire time and caused 0 disturbances) - not sure if that has anything to do with it but we weren't loud, rude, obnoxious or anything else and our table was right near the bar so we weren't out-of-sight out-of-mind.

This past Saturday, it was a party of 4 of us plus my son and our friend's son. We arrived around 7, were seated by ~7:30-40. We ordered our food and drink right away. The kitchen items came out very quickly (maybe 10 minutes max wait). However after almost a half hour after the kitchen food came out, none of our rolled sushi or ngiri had come out. No one checked in on us at all - instead we watched our server (tall, glasses, shaved head, only 1 ear gauged) serve the two large tables next to us many times and the small table on the other side of us many times. He wouldn't make eye contact with us when we tried to politely signal him. I had to wave someone else down (which I always feel bad doing since they have their own tables to look after). She re-took our food order and was very nice and apologetic. She said the chef dropped the paper on the floor. I know all of the above happens, but all could have been fixed quickly had a single server checked to see how we were doing.

Our rolls started coming out.So by ~9-9:15pm, we got all of our rolls and were needing to head home. My friend asked for her bill to come out with her dessert, it didn't so she had to go up to the counter to ask for it, she paid and left. Once my husband and I were done, I asked for my bill to come with my dessert as well, it also didn't and I went up to pay. They still charged me full price and when I asked why, the manager didn't answer me, he got my server, and my server stepped away multiple times to "talk to the manager". He then said they weren't going to discount it because he "saw the other server come and check on us." when I told him, no - we had to complain to her - no one checked on us, he stepped away again. Then he came back and said he didnt know how to edit the totals on the handheld screen he had....When I asked why the manager wouldn't talk to me and help, he said "I don't know, I am just a server but I am trying to help you out so I will give you two extra stamps on your stamp card as long as you don't tell my manager." and he also offered me two drink coupons which I declined. Uhm...what? To me, none of that was a favor or helping me out.

The whole situation was frustrating, and I really felt like customer service dropped the ball multiple times. In the past, I have loved their food but there are plenty of AYCE Sushi places in Vegas where food comes out in a timely manner, and if it doesn't, your servers check in on you to see how you are doing and can catch it if the chef dropped out paper on the floor...

My favorite AYCE in Henderson.

Came back to add to this - This is actually my favorite sushi restaurant in Vegas - and before you roll your eyes (cuz there are some fantastic spots in this city), there are reasons why Kaizen takes #1 in my heart and my stomach 😂

I’ve been coming to Kaizen since 2012, and after tasting many of the vally’s AYCE and al a cart sushi and sashimi restaurants, Kaizen is my go to favorite for all the traditionals and then some. This place rivals all of the ayce or revolving restaurants across the city, including Chinatown. The fish is so fresh, you can really tell the quality and cuts are great quality. They have a wider variety of fresh fish on special that you won’t typically see, especially for ayce. Another aspect I enjoy is the other menu items like fried rice, noodles, hot and cold tapas, and other non sushi options on ayce or al a cart for those who want options other than sushi. This is why I like Kaizen for groups, they usually have something everyone enjoys. I usually take friends or family visiting from out of town, and every time they mention Kaizen as a most memorable experience during their visit. Kaizen is very consistent in my experience, always delivering the great meal I anticipate when I’m able to visit. I enjoy seeing a lot of the same faces of the staff and chefs when I visit, it feels like visiting friends and having a great time connecting and laughing with them if it’s not too busy. The owners and managers a VERY generous! They recognize the locals and regulars, and make us feel welcomed and cherished with gifts, special chef plates, complimentary bottles or other offerings that make this place feel like home. I live a busy, single life with family far away, and when I come to Kaizen either alone, on a date, with friends, or with a group, the staff and chefs make me feel like I’m visiting people I’ve known and enjoyed for over a decade - which is true!

Thank you Kaizen! You are a staple in my Vegas experience, you’ve build and maintained your high quality service in all categories for over a decade, through recessions, pandemics. I vote your staff and chefs as a Vegas Local Favorite and MUST try! Thank you for your consistency and dedication to providing wonderful sushi dining experience day after day,...
