We've been here once before, for dinner. It was nice. At that time, it was still the end of the Rona and if I remember right, the "dining area" was closed. I don't remember what we had, but we both enjoyed our food. Started at 2-seat high table and migrated to the bar to have some drinks and lose some money on electronic poker/blackjack.

Fast forward now, couple years later, and a buddy said that he liked their $10 steak and eggs.

So today, a holiday (MLK), we went in for breakfast and there was only a few people at the bar, also enjoying breakfast, and one other table occupied. We took a lower 4-person table and the bartender greeted us warmly and said the waitress would be with us shortly.

The waitress came out, and handed us the breakfast menu and then added "but our steak and eggs are on the lunch/dinner menu" and handed that to us as well. She knew.

The wife ordered medium steak with over-medium eggs. I ordered medium-rare "closer to rare" to emphasize I actually wanted the red center (since most places over-cook it to medium when I say medium rare--I assume because people order it because they think that's what's "in" and then send it back for more fire?) Eggs the same.

They were out of hashbrowns, but had...I think she called them "kitchen potatoes"? Anyway, standard country potatoes, cubed and fried. We could have added cooked unions and peppers but both declined.

I added coffee and a Bloody Mary, because I felt like a lush today.

It felt like it took longer than it should have to get the food, but it probably didn't. I didn't time it and it wasn't bad enough to start wondering what was going on.

The food came out and it looked great. The potatoes were pretty standard fair. The eggs looked good, they had that golden butter or butter-substitute tinge. Steak had beautiful grill lines.

So, I know when you order cheap steak and eggs for breakfast, you're getting cheap steak. I know this. When I put my fork in, though, there was almost no resistance. "Like butter," as they say. I cut it and--oh my gosh, they cooked it how I asked them to! Hallelujah! Red center, but warm, not cool. Perfect medium rare. For those of you that think medium rare is cooked all the way through--it's not. It's a rare steak left on the heat a few moments more to make sure the center is still raw--but warm instead of cool from the fridge. Same as rare--but warm. Remember that, and be happy. Anyway, I'm a "mouth feel" guy, and I prefer warm over cool. All about feel.

The eggs were great--no runny white (over medium) but still perfectly runny yolk.

We "upsold" to the half biscuits and gravy instead of toast. It was standard, and fine. Needed a bit of salt, but the flavor was right. Probably pre-made. Biscuits were tender with a slight crunch to the bottoms. Nothing notable, but certainly not bad.

If I had to give a "con" I think the only ones would be that there wasn't much seasoning on the steak and I had to salt it myself. That's OK when it's for breakfast. Some people--bad people--like ketchup on everything for breakfast. My wife is one. She prefers to add her own flavor. Sometimes Tabasco. Again, uncultured people, but I digress. #2 would be when we got the bill, the meal was 11.49, not 9.99 like the menu stated. It's not much, and still very much worth it, but the wrong prices on menus are never cool.

The bloody Mary was offered "spicy, regular, or medium" and I went with spicy. Also had the choice of what shelf the vodka was. I'm a cheap lush, so I went with well. It came in a beer glass, the garnish was lemon and lime wedges. The flavor was just what you'd expect in a Bloody Mary. I don't know this, but I would guess pre-made Vs house made mix. Good, but it doesn't stand out as one to remember. Hit the spot though, so I'm not complaining. on the weekends, during morning hours, this is 3.50 (as well as their mimosas). Today it was 6. As far as the spicy, being a spice guy, I'd say this was a medium or light, instead of max spicy. It was fine for...

I've gone to another location over on Eastern and had a great experience. This visit was really disappointing. The dining area seemed to be an afterthought - cramped and not well attended.

The service was very poor, the food slow to come out. There were numerous problems with the food, including a sandwich with stale, hard bread, one dish that came out 20+ minutes later than the others, after most of the rest of us were finished eating, a sandwich that was cut one way and assembled another such that the slices were shaped in a way they couldn't line up and it couldn't be picked up without dumping most of the contents onto the plate.

I suggested the place for a work lunch after having enjoyed the Eastern location, but ended up feeling like I needed to apologize to the group for the choice. We/I will not be back.

On the bright side the fried...

We eat here once in a while and have always had good food and service. This morning was an exception to the rule. So bad I don't know where to start. Took over 15 minutes for 2 waters and 1 coffee to get to our table,(only ordered 1 coffee) We both ordered Steak and Eggs. Mine finally arrived, steak was dry and overcooked, eggs were not hot but cooked right. His meal didn't come and after 5 minutes I asked for his, brought out overcooked eggs, dry steak, nothing hot or warm and double order of toast for him. People behind us finally got up and left after not even getting a water after being seated for 20 minutes. Ladies in front of us arrived before and left with no food either. I did feel bad for the server because they were crowded and the "helper" was essentially useless. Would take drink orders and disappear and people wouldn't get...

It was my first time visiting this Village Pub! First, I love the location. We noticed it wasn't packed and were instantly relieved because we were able to enjoy our visit in peace while watching the game. The pub was clean, spacious, and I loved the giant comfortable chairs in the dining area. The onion rings were my favorite! We all absolutely loved Tyler who was sincerely the best! Tyler was kind, answered all of our questions, was quick, checked on us at the perfect times and was just overall amazing! Glad we spent our afternoon here.

I really love this bar! I don't frequent the average local bar very often but this spot rocks. I really like the bartender Danny. He's super friendly and does a really great job making you feel at home. Super attentive, always makes sure you never need to ask for anything, and is an all around great dude. Definitely the reason I've been frequenting this place more and more lately. Go give them a try. The sliders are awesome and the machines hit well.

Ordered a chicken sandwich with steak fries. However the chicken sandwich had no taste. The chicken was the correct size for the bun but lacked flavor. Steak fries came out cold. I have had these fries here before. Today they were served cold. But the bartender was not really paying attention to my order. She was on the other side of the bar talking up a storm. Not likely to return. But the over place inside is nice.
