Woods Family Sandwiches — Restaurant in Henderson

I AM SO GLAD JIMMY JOHN'S DOESN'T DELIVER TO MY HOUSE because if they did, I never would have discovered this little gem on Uber Eats!!

Husband and I are enjoying a week-long staycation for our first anniversary and I decided to order in some food. I was in the mood for a #9 with avocado from Jimmy John's but I have been one block outside their delivery radius since I bought this house 10 years ago so I went looking for something on Uber Eats.

Enter Woods Family Sandwiches. I went with them over the other sub options on Uber Eats because their Classic Italian sounded pretty close to Jimmy John's #9. I WAS WRONG! It was soooooooooooooo much better! The bread is delicious, obviously homemade and fresh. Like a pillowy cloud of carby goodness with a crust sufficient enough to stand up to a hulk-sized amount of fillings. More meat than I've ever seen on an Italian sub without having to order extra meat, crisp lettuce (romain or red leaf I think - not iceburg which is amazing), ripe tomatoes, the pepperocinis were a fantastic touch most places neglect, and I don't know what's in the house seasoning but it's divine.

I ordered the hot pastrami with no veggies and extra meat for the hubs and he said it's better than the gargantuan that he usually gets from what shall be now referred to as 'that other place'.

I also really like that my pickle came in a little ziplock baggie so as not to get the rest of the food all pickle-flavored. My husband wanted me to thank you for that in particular because he despises pickles. It's just a really thoughtful little touch that I've never seen before which also shows the owners of this place care about the details.

Very nice sandwich shop located in an industrial area at American Pacific and Gibson. I ordered a Ovengold sandwich and asked what came on the sandwich. She grabbed the display and try to show me something, but could not locate the information. All I wanted was a Turkey sandwich with tomato, pickle, lettuce and yellow mustard. She then proceeded to get a special order form. I was charged for a speciality sandwich, because I didn't want the chipotle mayo crap on my sandwich. Additionally, my other complaint was the sandwich was missing the meat on the last inch of the sandwich. I felt like I was at Subway, well maybe not that bad. (And in her defense, she had 3 in line and the phone was ringing) I'm not sure what their definition of a speciality or custom sandwich. However, I didn't think the sandwich was worthy of a custom for a change in condiment. As I mentioned, the place is very nice inside, people seem genuine, and it is very clean. Would I give it another try, "YES". However, I really cannot tell you what I can order, since I am allergic to mayo due to the eggs. Nevertheless, give it a try. Mood - Craving but unsure what it is

Have you ever wanted something. But you didn't know what. And you know it's not something like a bag of chips that can make it go away. And when you've reached that point of dire hunger, you usually go with your Go-To before the hangry sets in. Well that was me. Pastrami is always on my Go-To list

Upon entering there was a small line forming. It was lunch of course and I could tell the hangry was present amidst all of us in there. Lol you order, pay, find seating, and it is brought out to you.

I opted for Pastrami #2. This was my first time having a Pastrami sandwich set up this way. And goodness all those flavors meshed perfectly well together. I'm all for trying new things out and I'm surely glad I did with this lunch.

Interior is quaint. There are a couple of table and chair arrangements indoors along with a small outdoor seating area as well. In addition a small waiting area as well. The staff were very courteous and hospitable. Love great customer service

Would recommend- pricing was reasonable for the portions. I didn't know what to expect and I was pleased with the whole experience.
