El Paso #1 Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hendersonville

We had a great experience besides our waitress. Nice clean atmosphere. All of the workers seemed really nice and more than one of the waiters joked with my 2 year old as we walked to the bathroom. The simple foods like tacos, rice, and beans were very basic but hot and tasty. We liked the salsa and beans that come before the meal. My husband ordered the tacos Terre el paso and he did say that they were mostly tasteless if not for the salsa/dip they come with. I ordered the combo meal with taco, chalupa, and double beans. It came with rice and beans, which I later saw was what she had told the kitchen. We never saw our waitress the entire time we ate, so that wasn't great for service, and I also couldn't ask her to fix my meal. When she did come with the bill, I showed her the side of rice still there and reminded her that'd I'd asked for double beans, asked if she could just bring the missing side of beans. She pointed to my half-eaten side of beans that did come and said that as I was already eating them, she couldn't. I reiterated that I'd just been brought the wrong second side. She again pointed to the beans. I handed her the rice, again said it was something I hadn't ordered and asked for the beans I had, and she said ahhh OK, I remember. Then when she came back with the beans and requested to-go box, as I started to put my daughter's leftovers into the box she'd brought us for them, she tried to take the plate. I said I was taking them and she didn't say a word, just walked away. It was honestly just such a passively rude interaction during an otherwise good visit while passing...

I went there with my family to eat, was given shrimp that wasn’t fully cooked, I asked for it to be cooked more and was told no they were closing soon. We hadn’t touched any of our food. I offered to pay for our drinks but stated I didn’t feel I should have to pay for food that was untouched/that we wouldn’t be eating due to them refusing to fix my order. (It doesn’t make sense to sit there, and have everyone eat but one person due to their service) the manager (the bigger guy) tried forcing me to pay or said it would be an issue, so I told him we could involve law enforcement and called the police. As I was on the phone with them he said no it’s okay next time you tell me etc etc, so I told the officer they didn’t need to come out. Fast forward to today, we go to eat, and are refused service. I have a conversation with one of the supposed owners ( he wouldn’t give his name nor his brothers that the incident occurred with) but he stated it was his brother and his brother told him I never called the police, which in fact I did. He refused to give any information to be able to handle this situation professionally. No names, owners...

1 year ago I swore I'd never go back...... well, I did -- BAD MISTAKE!!! This meal was even worse than the last. Complimentary dishes of bean dip and salsa were brought to the table with chips. There were soggy pieces of chips in the salsa!!!! Can only imagine they recycle!!! YUCK!!! But it WAS complimentary!!! My husband ordered Cream Burritos which were basically aged mush covered in something similar to Chef Boyardee sauce. I ordered the Mexican Salad. I was looking for grilled, seasoned chicken & vegetables over fresh greens with dressing. Since the "Fajita Taco Salad" (which did not have a description) was in a taco shell & I was looking for no carbs, the waitress prompted me to the Mexican Salad -- REALLY????? Huge cuts of iceberg lettuce, worn out tomatoes, large raw chunks of mushrooms, onions & peppers topped with old dried out pieces of unseasoned chicken!!!! When she came to our table, she saw my obvious full salad and did not even question it..... just took it away and presented our check. I can't believe these people are still in business.
