I am a 44-year-old professional female working in the real estate development and investment sector. I head a networking group for a niche collection of contractors and artisans in the building and construction industry. I am a public speaker who promotes training our youth to become trades professionals, as the shift to tech careers has left us with a deficiency in many trades. Today, I woke up and my car wouldn't start. My code reader showed nothing, my battery tested functional and what I could tell it is either my car's ECU, or my key chip is not working because they aren't communicating....car isn't starting. Many times I've been to this ACE, and I remembered them promoting their new service of reproducing chipped keys. I needed to find someone who could tell me if my key was readable. I called and got a "gentleman" on the phone who abruptly told me that they don't do chipped car keys at this location because of covid, and the need for a worker to enter my vehicle. After doing a bit of research, I thought I would call back because maybe he misunderstood my need. When I explained that I would like to speak with someone regarding what technology they use to duplicate keys, he got another worker named David to speak with me. David immediately told me that to program a key they would need to get in my car. I asked if they had a machine that could read my existing key or if he could just rip another from a blank so I could reprogram it myself. He immediately started to interrupt me to tell me he wasn't going to cut a key for me for free. When I asked again if he could just cut a chipped key, he kept insinuating that I was trying to get some form of handout and kept talking over me like I had no idea what I'm talking about. Thank you Dave, for giving me the impatient, buttinski man-spaination. I historically shop there for anything I can instead of Lowes or Amazon because I value the locally owned business. I give you three stars for the two employees who have been helpful with my plants, mulch, bedcover, gardening supplies, and tools. Please ask your employees to listen to the needs of your customers instead of speaking down to them or jumping to...

Rating: â â â â â
From the moment I set foot in the Ace Hardware Store at 911 Grenville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC, I was struck by a remarkable blend of spaciousness and an intimate, local feel. It's a large store, but it hasn't lost its roots. It holds on to that small-town charm that is so often replaced by a corporate aesthetic in other large retailers. Unlike Home Depot or Lowes, this Ace store is like a beacon of local community spirit, making you feel right at home.
Every member of the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. Their dedication to customer service was evident from the minute I walked in. I was greeted with warmth and a genuine desire to assist me with my needs. The team members at this location went above and beyond to ensure my shopping experience was nothing less than excellent.
Another impressive feature was the store's specialty sections. Whether you're looking for paint, BBQ equipment, or gardening supplies, this store has it all. The carefully curated sections ensure that you don't waste time looking for what you need. Their selection is extensive, offering an amazing variety of products for every possible project or hobby.
My visit coincided with their 4th of July Customer Appreciation Day. The store was buzzing with excitement and an infectious sense of community. The staff organized a free BBQ, truly setting a festive atmosphere and making customers feel appreciated. To top it all off, they were giving out American flags. As I walked out, waving my flag, I couldn't help but think, "God bless America."
In conclusion, Ace Hardware in Hendersonville, NC, is more than just a hardware store. It's a pillar of the community, offering not just goods but an unforgettable shopping experience. I highly recommend this store for its excellent service, vast selection, and...
Read moreI bought a chainsaw from this store on September 28, 2024, right after the Helene disaster. At the time of purchase, there were no signs or indications stating that chainsaws were non-returnable, and no one mentioned it during checkout.
The chainsaw has never been usedâno scratches, dust, or any signs of wear. In fact, it has remained in the trunk of my car since the day I bought it. When I was informed that chainsaws/Stihl products are non-refundable, the store owner, Greg Paul, was outside moving pallets of water. He briefly looked up, dismissed everything I was saying with a quick 'non-refundable,' and walked away, shaking his head, leaving me standing there without a second thought.
I had to follow him as he was ignoring me, asking why the 'all sales final' policy was never mentioned or displayed anywhere. He didnât even acknowledge me at first and kept walking away. When he finally stopped, he turned around with an attitude and said, 'What!' I asked again why this information wasnât disclosed, but he never answered. Instead, he just walked away back into the store, completely ignoring my concerns.
The store was quick to take my money when I purchased the product, but when I needed assistance with my return, I was met with a bad attitude and dismissive behavior.
Iâve purchased many items from this store since itâs closer to my home than Loweâs or Home Depot, but after this experience, Iâm willing to inconvenience myself and shop at those stores instead of spending another dime here. I truly canât find the words to describe how overbearing he behaved.
As a customer, I recommend that you ask whether all sales are non-refundable for the item youâre purchasing to avoid having the same experience I did. While I won't say that I won't visit another Ace Hardware store, I have my doubts about supporting a company with...
