My husband and I were excited to try this new place, for breakfast. When we arrived, it was busy but not too long of a wait. I drink decaffeinated coffee so my first question is always "Is it fresh"? It was and I was happy. The food was OK. Not great, but certainly acceptable. The owner was there and he went from table to table, chatting and being friendly. Nice touch.. We left happy.
That brings me to our second visit....Longer wait, Owner was our server. We ordered the Philly cheese omelet. Long, long wait. Food arrives, Philly cheese omelet has no cheese. Owner offers to bring us a slice of cheese or remake the omelets. We choose, new omelets. Long wait, Omelets arrive, other food is cold. OK, whatever. Omelets were not good at all because the onions, green peppers etc were not cooked. Could not get coffee refill, butter etc.. Owner took off 20% from our bill, eh ok....
Thinking perhaps the second visit was an anomaly we decided to try again, as we were searching for that first experience. (We eat out a lot folks, don't judge lol). No wait to get seated, however, this was made up for by the unnecessary wait for our food. Meanwhile, the decaffeinated coffee was not fresh, our server was terrible. She walked away from our table in the middle of us ordering. Another server came over to finish our order and commented that our other server had "Issues" hummmm, ok. So we waited for our food...and we waited....and we waited. Oh good, food arrived! I mentioned to the server that I hoped it was hot. She stated "Oh it is, it just came out"! Drum roll...It was cold. Could not get coffee, service seriously sucks!
And yet, here we are, again at Eggs up! One might wonder why, after all the annoying visits, we are here. Well in my defense, as I said we eat out a lot. Especially breakfast. There aren't that many places in Hendersonville that one can go so we thought maybe it was because they are new and getting the kinks out. I like to be fair so this morning, we decided to give it one last try. Here is my experience. Was not too busy, however, we were completely ignored for just under 10 minutes. We watched the group of employees gathered at the back by the door chatting. Just as we were deciding to leave, a very unfriendly lady came over and said "Two". My husband said "Yes" and I said "Oh, I thought y'all didn't see us maybe". She ignored me and I asked for a booth. We waited. Our server, Dayna, was friendly, brought us coffee and took our order and we waited...and waited...food arrives. My eggs were cold. Dayna was gracious and took my plate back. Eggs arrived hot, but of course potatoes etc. are now cold. At this point I have to say that this server (Which is why I mention her name) is the best part of this establishment. She was pleasant, accommodating and was really trying. She is the only server of all our visits, who checked on us, refilled our coffee timely and was what I refer to as a professional, efficient server. Have to throw that in because, well, we won't be back. As a foot note, it appears that this establishment has kitchen issues, hosting issues and below average service. We wanted to love "Eggs...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend were super excited to try this place, we’ve tried going multiple times but every time it was super crowded so we went elsewhere. But this Saturday it wasn’t a long wait so we stayed and everything on the menu sounded so good…sadly it was honestly terrible. We were seated and ordered(took about 30 min to get our food), I ordered the “shrimp and grits omelet” with a side of the home fries…upon getting my food I didn’t have the grits part of my order and there was confusion about it but I guess me ordering my side of home fries(as it states under the omelet section you get a choice of side) was me actually “substituting” the grits in the shrimp and GRITS omelet…I figured it automatically came with my order, weird wording of menu. So our waitress brought me grits which I was later charged an additional $2 or $3 for. I wouldn’t of been mad about paying extra for things IF it was good food. But it wasn’t. Everything was extremely bland and flavorless. The only thing in my omelet I could taste was the Swiss cheese. My boyfriend ordered the Texas farm house omelet and he barely ate it, he said salt and pepper couldn’t even save it. I also ordered the avocado toast which was eh ok but after like a minute it was super soggy with the amount of salsa they threw on it. Spent about $40 on breakfast expecting to really enjoy it but wound up being a waste. If you’re gonna be a breakfast joint at least know how to make a good breakfast. Won’t be back. Pops diner is about 5 min down the road and 10x better for...
Read moreThis place is terrible. If I could give it less stars I would. Don't waste your money!!! You don't get what you order and what food you get is not good at all, cold, dried out and not edible. Out of every meal at the table, the parts of the meals that we did actually receive, the only things that anyone could eat were the eggs and the grits. The eggs were cold, but edible and the grits were good. The gravy was awful the pancakes had a weird taste, cold, hard, dried out, old and no one could eat them, the bacon was so old and hard it would break your teeth and had a bad taste like it was spoiled. We never did receive all of our food. Just pieces of the meals we'd all ordered. The service is nonexistent. We repeatedly flagged down other waitresses and ask to send our waitress over. Eventually she did show up ONE TIME and said she'd go get the rest of our food and never came back. We kept bothering the other waitresses trying to get our missing food and they'd say they would go find her, but she never reappeared. We drove the other waitresses crazy trying to get our check so we could just pay and leave and waited forever for our waitress to bring it. When she finally came, she said she would take all the food that we never received off of our check. Not one single thing was deducted from our check, not one thing. We even had to pay for an order of toast that we never got. They didn't even deduct an order of toast! We had to pay for the food that was not edible and we paid for the food that we never even got. So...
