Taqueria Don Carbón express — Restaurant in Hendersonville

This is Latina approved!!!!! We had a favorite Mexican restaurant up in bowling green but after coming here we officially said this was our new fav spot. We ordered the quesobirria and caldo de res and it was amazing. The broth for the quesobirria had such a nice rich flavor and the taco was so fresh!!! The soup was so yummy and had such a good amount of meat (for reference I made my boyfriend 4 tacos with it using the tortillas that were given).The hibiscus drink was delicious too, it wasn’t too sugary like how other Hispanic restaurant make them. The salsa bar was such a good idea too! The salsa verde was the perfect about of spicy and complimented our food very well. As well as the extra limes/radish and pickled carrots that were available to get from the salsa bar. Other restaurants are stingy sometimes for extra limes and stuff but this place was great! I recommend this place to anyone who wants some good Hispanic food, this does not compare to other americanized Mexican restaurants that are popularized...

We passed through Hendersonville TN and stopped at the taco truck outside the gas station. I ordered the taco plate and it came with 5 tacos that were the size of my palm, the tacos fell apart from the corn tortillas being so soggy. We were charged extra for ordering barbacoa and lengua which was fine but the “barbacoa” was just roast and the lengua had no flavor and was mushy from being overcooked. It did not come with any beans or rice, which for the price we paid I would think it would. I guess just because people own a restaurant that doesn’t necessarily mean they can cook. We ordered on DoorDash so I can’t really speak for the atmosphere, but this place was hands-down, the best Mexican food I have had in three years since I have moved to Tennessee!!!! I got the Carne Asada torta loaded Carne Asada fries and queso Birria tacos!! Everything was delicious!! their hot sauces were amazing and I will not go anywhere else for Mexican food again!!! And I can only imagine how much better it will be if I go get it myself in person!!...
