Peet's Coffee — Restaurant in Hercules

I visited the store a few days ago with my cousin around closing time. When we walked in, there was one person on the phone, likely taking drive-thru orders, but no one was at the front to take in-person or in-store orders. The associate on the phone saw us but didn’t acknowledge our presence. It would have been nice if they had said something like, “Someone will be with you shortly” or “Please give us a moment,” but there was no communication. They saw us, looked away, and continued taking orders.

Eventually, someone came out from the back or kitchen and asked if we were ready to order, which I appreciated. Their customer service was great, and they did their best to assist us.

Overall, the store is in a convenient location near the Safeway gas station, and while the second associate’s service was excellent, the initial lack of acknowledgment impacted the experience. I would have rated the visit 5 out of 5 if we had been told about the wait. Since that didn’t happen, I’m giving it...

The staff at this location has always been so lovely and polite, and they've never messed up my drink order. I've been going to this location since they've opened because I had hoped the drive thru would be easier than the Pinole Valley store's parking lot. Unfortunately, the drive thru is CONSISTENTLY slow. Definitely avoid if you're in a hurry on your way to work! I just went at 6am on a Saturday right when they opened; I placed my order in the drive thru, and had to wait 25 mins till I actually got to the window and received my drink. Literally one of the worst coffee experiences I’ve ever had in my life.

The drip coffee tasted like motor oil that had been left out in the hot sun then mixed with sludge. Truly horrendous and I wish this experience on nobody else.

Also, the service was horrible. When I asked for a bagel with cream cheese, the said that they couldn’t make me one despite having all the ingredients. They could of course reheat one of the pre made sandwiches for me.

This Peet’s is exceptionally poorly run, to the point I was slightly impressed. Peet’s lost me as a customer and I urge you to reconsider where you get coffee as well. There is a Starbucks in the Safeway in the...
