Hermosa Saloon — Restaurant in Hermosa Beach

The Hermosa Saloon has been upgrading!! They have renovated and there is more space and less stage obstruction! They have a nice elevated stage for the live bands. If you go on Friday or Saturday night go before 9 PM to avoid the cover charge. Yes it is still worth the $5 cover and this is to help I'm sure pay the musicians They support local.live music which is dying out people!! We need to keep this alive. They also are upgrading the music. You will get so.e good variety. I put a pic of Like Zeppelin... The lead singer is FANTASTIC. They have amazing guitarists and the drummer rocks. I mean it's not easy to nail Zeppelin. Anyway on Wednesday night they have an open mic and the musicians are friendly and the styles are diverse. You do need to go around 8 for sign ups. The alcohol is full bar. Not just beer and wine and the prices are good. They have started carrying some great brands and more choices in each category. They have good security and as a woman this is important. The security guy actually pays attention and when a guy tried to grab onto me too rough before I could hit the guy the doorman Tim had him off and out. No scuffle no brawl. EXPERT! That had never happened to me there so that's another thing. The upgrades and better music and cover keeps the kooks away. It's a classier local bar!! But has the cool "dive bar" vibe. They have giant Jenga and a ami juke box. TUESDAY NIGHT IS LADIES NIGHT.. brand new and I may just have to check it out with my squad... parking is mediocre they have a small lot and there is a free public lot but not tons of space so if you coen late park across at the CVS. A very cool "happening place!" Entertainment was first class. Singer Kara Turner and her band brought the house down. The rafters rocked and so did we! She was "really good"...a sound you'd expect to hear on the radio. Amazing...goosebumpy! If you just want a night out...this is the way to go. They draw a good local crowd of super people...(one high profile T.V. actor was there with his beautiful lady) all there to have fun...dance the night away. Drinks are what they should be and there is enough staff to keep it flowing. Ambiance is casual, relaxed atmosphere and the music takes you away from the hassle of everyday life. One...

Service and the overall atmosphere exceeded my expectations. I really missed old-school classic dive bars and this place provided exactly what I needed.

Several months up date as of 03.19.22 this has become one of my favorite places to visit. Some of the best friendliest and amazing bar tenders around. My only draw back is on days I can't walk or stand I use my wheelchair and it's an extremely tight fit to get in the door and the restroom is not at all handicap accessible or large enough to hold the two stalls it actually has . But besides that. I have no complaints. Waiting for the warmer weather to enjoy...
