I was charged almost $500 for two nights at your hotel. For this price, I would reasonably expect higher-quality accommodations, including a more refined presentation of the property, well-maintained facilities, and furnishings that reflect the premium rate charged. Unfortunately, my experience did not align with these expectations, and I felt the accommodations fell short of the level of comfort and quality typically associated with this price point. The bed in our hotel squeaked at ANY sign of movement and sounding like a car honking. We could barely got any sleep at all. The carpet was very dirty. I walked around barefoot when we first arrived and I had to clean my feet because they were black from the carpet. When we arrived, our room was so hot, I would think that after room service had come, they would at the very least put the air on a comfortable setting so the guests who arrived next would not come into the Sahara desert. There was no microwave in our room. We could not cook anything. There was nothing luxurious about this room. This was a standard hotel room. The lotion, shampoo and conditioner were attached to the wall. We specifically got this room because of the jacuzzi. We had planned on using the jacuzzi several times so we could relax. HOWEVER, the jacuzzi did not work either. Once we waited the entire HOUR for the jacuzzi to fill up JUST past the jets, because the water pressure was ridiculously low...We did as we were instructed and turned the knob and pressed the button. It took so long for the jacuzzi to turn on. Once we got it turned on it only lasted a little bit of time. We tried to get it to work again but it would not turn on. To top it all off, both nights we were there, someone came and swung the door open as hard as they could. We were sleeping. It was in the early, 2AM or 3AM. The first night I did not see who it was. But the second night, I ran to the door yelling for them to shut the door. When I looked through the door peep hole, it was apparently your hotel security guard. He was opening the door telling us to keep the door locked? I did not hear him do that to anyone else. It was loud. The whole experience was horrible. We could not even go to the pool. No one told us that the pool would not be open. This was NOT worth the almost $500 it cost me AT ALL. We left early and drove home in the middle of the night. Just horrible. I would really like a refund to be honest. It was the worst experience I have had, after spending...
Read moreI stumbled upon this hotel from another website and was pleasantly surprised with the quality. We were in town for Spring Break and needed somewhere affordable that still offered breakfast, parking, and wifi. This hotel was above and beyond my expectations.
From our room we could see the ocean in the distance, which was nice for a morning coffee on the balcony. The street was a bit busy during the day so having the sliding door open brought noise pollution into the room. The hotel was less than a five minute drive down to the beach, and there were plenty of parking meters available (watch out at night for Taxi-Only zones, though) and a parking ramp was also down there. If you are worried about finding parking, there is a bike rental shop right across the street from the hotel!
The hot tub was very warm and was a nice get a way after a long day running around. The temperature dropped to around 55-60 at night when we were there, so the hot tub was greatly appreciated. The door by the hot tub does get locked at 4:30 PM, so do plan to walk to the other side of the parking lot to get back in if you are going after hours.
Housekeeping was very prompt - out cleaning by 8 AM. While this was not a problem for me, my friends tended to sleep in a bit later and we would have to send them away multiple times. They cleaned the rooms very nicely and even stocked extra towels for us when they realized there were more than 2 people staying in the room.
Breakfast was average for a hotel breakfast, but did offer ready-to-make waffles, eggs, bacon, 2 different cereals, apple juice, orange juice, water, coffees, and other breakfast items you could take to go. There is inside seating, and also an outside patio. The morning sun is nice to sit in out on the patio while you eat your food. Though, during the week, breakfast does close at 9:30, so if you are a late sleeper, plan to wake up earlier for your breakfast.
I thought this hotel was very reasonably priced and was in a great location. There is a starbucks right next door, as well as a pink berry yogurt shop, and a mcdonalds down the road. You are minutes from the Hermosa Pier which offers excellent restaurants (my favorites were the American Junkie, Watermans, and Medeterranio). Hermosa Beach was very quiet and was kept clean. Of all the beaches we went to, this was by far my favorite.
I would definitely stay here again if I am ever back in the area, and would recommend it to friends planning trips...
Read moreMy stay at this hotel was fantastic. I will say this hotel is older so keep that it mind. So if you are looking for that 10 star JW or Hilton hotel this is not it. But if you are a simple person like me then this hotel is perfect. The rooms were clean and the bed was one of the best beds I have ever slept in and the pillows were amazing. I have stayed at 5 star hotels and had to ask for more pillows cause there were so flat and didn't support my head and neck. Shower had amazing water pressure. Due to Covid they don't clean your room every day unless you ask which is fine since it was just me. The only thing I asked for was more towels. They do have a nice sized fridge in the room but no microwave which is the one thing I wished they had. But there is one in the lobby that is available and I used it a couple of times. The location was perfect. There is a Starbucks, Trader Joe's , nail salon and sushi place all next door. There is a McDonalds and a two gas stations across the street. There is a great Italian place up the street that starts with an S that was really good. The beach was about 1-2 mile walk from the hotel as well as some shopping along the way. There was also a CVS and a Vons (grocery store) down and across the street. So I was able to walk there and get snacks and food for the beach. I was there from Wednesday to Sunday late afternoon so I didn't start off with a car so being able to walk to almost anything was great. It wasn't until Friday that I decided to rent a car for 24 hours so that I could drive down to laguna beach for the day. The staff was great at letting me know where the nearest rental car place was, which you guessed it, it was down the street. So walked there and rented a car. Even though it was for 24 hours it was great being able to drive to the walmart and best buy, again not far but you will need a car to go to those places. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and helped me with questions. Thank you to all the staff that was there Aug 4th to Aug 8th you made my stay even better. They even let me stay till 4pm since my flight was not till after 6. I had to pay an extra $30, but it was worth it cause I was able to have a few hours at the beach that morning and come back and shower and pack. A lot of hotels wouldn't let you do that and not at that extra price. I will definitely stay here again. This is a must stay hotel. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel and customer service. ...
