I visited Phuket Thai in Redondo Beach this past Saturday and had a mixed experience. The food was undoubtedly the highlight — flavorful, authentic, and with a wide variety of options to suit different palates. Each dish we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. However, the service left much to be desired. We arrived at 6:00 PM to find the restaurant surprisingly empty, which made the extended delays all the more confusing. After being seated, we placed our drink orders (wine, beer, and sparkling water), which arrived in a timely manner. But from there, the pace slowed significantly. It took about 20 minutes for our server to return and take our appetiser order, and another 20 minutes for the appetisers to arrive. More concerning was the long wait after we finished our starters. It took roughly 40 minutes before the waitress came back to take our entrée orders. When the main dishes finally began arriving, they were served at inconsistent temperatures — some were lukewarm, some warm, and others nearly cold. One of our party members received his meal after the rest of us had almost finished eating. Throughout the evening, there were no check-ins to see if we wanted additional drinks or if we needed anything else. The lack of attentiveness and delay in food service were disappointing, especially given the empty state of the restaurant when we arrived. It left us questioning what caused such a lapse in basic service flow. In short, Phuket Thai offers tasty, well-executed dishes, but the poor service experience detracted significantly from the evening. First I have to say I love their Red Curry, but after my last 2 experiences there I can no longer give them my service. Twice I've ordered take out and they have forgotten key ingredients, like the vegetables or bamoo. Then I ordered take out that had a long black hair, gross, I called and they said I could get the meal again for free. When I went to claim this free meal they changed me $2 for the rice, super lame! Then when I got this home it was missing bamoo! When your Red Curry consists of chicken and bamboo that sucks. I called and they said since it was a free meal they couldn't do anything for me, except give me extra bamboo the next time (how does that help my current meal?!?) When I told the guy that wasn't acceptable he hung up on me, WTH! The following week I tried calling 4 different times to talk to a manager, but each time I was told the manager or owner would be in later that day or "they only come in on the weekends" each time I called I could never get them to let me talk to someone in charge. Lunch at 13:40 on a Saturday. 4 tables were full. Decent looking furniture. Fast service. NO AIR CONDITIONING!! NO FANS. I almost left, hot muggy and humid with no airflow.

Good full menu, had all Thai dishes you expect. Asked for prik nam pla, fish sauce with chillis, and they had this standard condiment to me fast. They did NOT have the standard 4 condiment carousel you often see at Thai places.

Cream cheese wontons (crab rangoon) were good. Larb gai (ground chicken salad) was decent, but not a very large quantity--smaller than most places. Also, the mint used was old and mostly brown, not fresh. I ordered med spice, with the chili fish sauce on side to add heat if desired... arrived well hotter than medium for most folks. Ok for me, but no one else in my family would be able to eat it, was pretty much HOT. Probably ok for native Thai or big chili fans, and was tasty for me.
