We've been here a few times now (every weekend actually) and the service has seemed to have gone down. The men servers are pretty nice and are actually great servers, but the women servers...not so much. They're not attentive to your needs and forget things (which is okay, they're humans) but what's not okay are the ATTITUDES! The owner, however, is nice and has been pleasant everytime. This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in Hernando, but I won’t be back. More on that later. The last two times I've gotten the chipotle shrimp pasta, the sauce has not had a consistent consistency and has lacked flavor. It has also left a weird aftertaste lately. If you’re not a fan of cilantro make sure you ask them to leave it out. The tacos are average. The house margaritas aren't strong at all, the flavor is good though (we've had the frozen and on the rocks margaritas multiple times). They do add quite a bit of ice to the on the rocks margaritas, so you may want to ask for them to be a little lighter on the ice. I'd definitely recommend upgrading to a premium liquor if you want a buzz. The wings are good, however, the seasoning differs from time to time. Sometimes they're spicy and other times they're not. The taco salad is okay, however, it's more lettuce and cheese than meat. My favorite dish so far has been the fajita bowl. I have no complaints about it at all. The shrimp chimichangas are okay and are usually fried perfectly, but lacks flavor. The chicken quesadilla is average. BEWARE if you go with younger children though. We were told by a server (who was not our server) that another server (who was also not our server) wanted us to "Shut the baby up"while my 1 year old son played at the table with his grandfather. He would was not crying or fussing and would occasionally let out a happy squeal and we were LITERALLY the ONLY customers in the whole restaurant as it was about a hour to closing time. Once confronted about it another server laughed it off and said they were just "playing". Don't play with people's children like that. We were regulars, but now for sure...
Read moreI went here with a group of friends before having aerial yoga class on Wednesday. I felt like our waiter didn't really want to be there. About 4 us decided to order medium skinny margaritas. The waiter asked us what size we wanted and we all said medium. One of my friends asked for lemons 3 or 4 times. She finally got one 30 -45 minutes later She also asked for sour cream and was charged $1.50 for a tiny little container. What in the world? Then came our bill. After asking for our bill, we literally waited 20-25 minutes just to get our checks. We were all charged for Jumbo skinny margaritas at $15.99, even though we said medium. We looked on the drink menu and the Jumbo margaritas were only $8.99, and there was no listing at all for Skinny Margaritas. We brought this to a manager's attention that we were overcharged, but he was rude and confrontational. He argued that medium and Jumbo were the same size. He refused to adjust our bill and continued to argue. We paid our bill. We won't be back. This is not how you...
Read moreWe will never return as our first visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. If you read any of my other reviews you will see that I am very fair, but this restaurant absolutely blew it. Our waiter was not at all friendly, and after taking our order he never once came to check on us or bring our bill. The tortilla chips tasted like they had been cooked in old stale oil, they were gross. The cheese quesadilla was a joke, there is almost no cheese on it as you can see from the photo below. The grilled potatoes are not bad but they could use more seasoning. The chorizo quesadilla and refried beans were pretty good, which is why they got 2 for food instead of one. $5 for a tiny bowl of cheese dip is a rip off. The restaurant was very hot and stuffy and uncomfortable. There are two other much better Mexican restaurants in Hernando so don't waste your time or money...
