She said she was terribly sorry and would tell the manager and offered to knock a bit off the check (normal protocol for the situation, although I had no intention of asking for anything off the ticket). Manager sent server back out to tell me she would take 20 cents off my ticket. Really? 20 cents? I asked to speak to her. She came to the table with a bad attitude. Accused me of trying to get free food, said it was hot in the kitchen and acted like the bad tomato was my fault for not pointing it out sooner. Said she would have offered me another sandwich. I really didn’t want another sandwich as my appetite was ruined after eating bad tomato. Server tried to get her to remove the iced tea. She refused. Round three. I finally had enough and told her she had a bad attitude, never mind the iced tea, take the sandwich off the ticket. She then stated that she was going to call the cops (no idea why). I said, go ahead, I’ll be right here waiting. I paid the check which by then was minus the iced tea (sheesh, thanks) and gave the server (who kept apologizing), a very nice tip. The officer arrived. I went up front to meet him and the three of us went out to discuss the matter. The manager then accused me of trying to skip out on the check. Flat out lie. She lied to a police officer. After some more discussion, the officer asked if we felt it was resolved. I agreed it was, despite the fact that I just paid $10 for a sandwich that I couldn’t eat due to spoiled tomato. I will not be going back to Windy City Grill in Hernando nor will any...
Read moreVisited this spot on 5/13/2024 for lunch with my brother in law who suggested the place. My sister was also with us. We were in town from Atlanta, GA. Didn't get our server's name, but she was wearing a white "fan" around her neck. She took our order. A couple came in much later than us and received their food before us. My sister had a cheese pizza w/pineapples, I had grill chicken sliders and fries (which were cold) and my brother had a club sandwich. When I inquired about the table behind us that received their food first, she stated "well they just had a bunch of fried stuff and that's why there's came up first. That was a very POOR EXCUSE. She was unconcerned that we were not happy about it. I also asked could I have a covered straw and she said they don't have straws that come sealed in paper. Why on Earth after a global pandemic would you serve bare straws in beverages without the paper covering? This means that servers and grabbing straws with their bare, unclean hands and sticking it in your beverage which taints the whole beverage? This is absolutely LUDICROUS and this place must do better. I have not ever encountered a restaurant that did that before. They bring you the straw in paper or if they put it in your beverage, it still has the paper on top that has not been touched by anyone. PLEASE DO BETTER!! This is one of the reasons viruses, colds and other ailments spread. If this restaurant is trying to save money, you might want to use styro foam cups instead of the plastic cups with your name and address on which is your way of getting free advertisement I'm sure. TRY AGAIN. Health is greater...
