Egg Karne — Restaurant in Herndon

We stopped by for brunch on our way out of town. We had no idea that Egg Karne was located on the Herndon Golf Course. While that was initially a bit shocking, once we saw the menu, we decided to stay and give it a go. So glad we did!

I haven't been able to find a lot of Filipino food home. The idea of spam fries was probably the hook. We both got the Silog breakfast - one with sausage and one with pork belly. We felt it gave us a chance to try most of the menu, however, we did miss out on the Ube Waffle (neither of us were in Waffle mood). I cleaned my plate - the best recommendation I could give regarding the food quality.

Portion size was decent. Yes, I would wish for a bit more, however, the prices are decent for what you get. Drinks, even soft drinks, were a bit pricy, but that is a function of being on a golf course.

Speaking of the course, there is a few seats in the back that give you an excellent view. Overall, not a bad way to enjoy breakfast before...

Beside clean and good big widow that let the sun in the place, friendly guy who took my order. The food was not that good. The Ube Burger couldn't finish it. Maybe it was me cause I tried it for the first time and the taste didn't feel right. Anyways on the other hand the Lumpia. Oh God I think by far the unseasoned lumpia I ever eaten in my life . Yes my ancestors from PI so I get very picky when I eat lumpia. This one's had crunchy outside but the meat was Bland. and the sauce OMG they water it down with vinegar. So if you like Vinegar that's your thing I don't. I Been to this place before but I moved during COVID and was so excited to come visit again when I came to the area. I hope they will try and taste their food and adjust accordingly. I really like the place but I can't recommend this two food in my right...

Restaurant claims to be a Filipino /American food . Honestly I'm very disappointed my husband ordered ube waffle and chicken, the chicken is dry and no seasoning the batter is plain flour no seasoning either , the ube waffle is a little dry and need more flavor.My son and I ordered chicken silog. Every Filipinos know that the meat that comes with this meal is well balanced and seasoned and served with garlic rice. First off the rice is just plain no seasoning . The chicken tastes like a pre packaged grilled chicken, beef lumpia is so bad I spit it out there is no Filipino about the dishes,very very disappointed.
