This is a very small simple Hispanic bakery that also sell a small selection of convenient items. It sells delicious looking cakes, lots of baked items including bread, cookies, cakes, drinks (beer, water, soda), plastic utensils, paper plates, birthday candles, hot sauces, snacks, bread, etc... It is not a full size grocery store. It is like a small market, that you can stop by for some baked goods, beer, or a snack. The store is very small, and the spaces between each aisle is very tight designed for slender to medium built people. If your body type is on the larger size, you might not enjoy shopping here because it would be difficult to walk up and down the aisle. This market appears to be frequent by local Hispanic community. I was the only non-Hispanic there, and I felt like I was stared at with curious eyes. I bought some baked items, and they are pretty good. Not the best, but I like that I am supporting a small business. I also got a bottle of "Black Label Reserve" hot sauce. I just like the name of it, and one of my close friends loves HOT HOT HOT pepper. I got it for him. One thing that stands out is that many, almost all, the items are not priced. I found out when I was at the register. I am not a fan of stores that don't display prices on their products. I bought 1 small bottle of hot sauce ($2.49), 1 bag of hot peanuts with red pepper ($1.49), 2 cookies, 1 small cake, 1 piece of bread and 1 pack of cakes (see photos), and that was $10.40. When I stopped by, this place was a little busy with about 10 customers coming in and out, but surprisingly, it is...
Read moreI have always pre-ordered cakes from here for birthdays. Each time I was not too happy they could never fully make my request but we loved the flavor so we continued to order. However I ordered a SpongeBob themed cake in advanced but was unable to pick so I asked family to pick up the cake. To my disappointment my mom was rushed out and was upset the person was rude to her. For that reason she did not take a look at the cake or was even given the time to see the decoration. Once we got to open the box, the cake looked sloppy, nothing like the picture I had presented to them. I was very much disappointed. Called them the next day only to hear from the lady being defensive. She claimed the cake was picked up and could have been fixed at the moment, however my mom stated she was rude and rushed her out of the bakery. I asked what can we do, I like your cakes but I was not happy with the decoration of the cake being ordered in advanced to which the lady said well we cannot do anything you, and you had time to let us know. Explained to her I did not, I had the cake picked up and had a terrible experience. Proceeded to tell me I could have brought the cake back I informed her no, I could not I had family waiting at a restaurant and unable to return if there was anything they could do. The lady continued to be upset at me and said well with customers like you nothing we cannot do anything. Definitely will not be...
Read moreI recently ordered a Tres leches cake from La Champita Bakery for our New Year's celebration. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The cake, which was pre-ordered well in advance, was a major disappointment in both appearance and taste. The decoration was sloppy, lacking the finesse and attention to detail one would expect from a professional bakery. The flavor was equally underwhelming, with a dry texture and an overly sweet frosting that overshadowed the cake itself. It's disheartening to receive such a subpar product, especially for a special occasion like New Year's. I had high hopes based on previous reviews, but this experience has certainly dampened my enthusiasm for...
