Visited the restaurant when it opened at noon today. They weren't quite finished setting up so there were people running around yet. I flagged someone down and asked if I could take one of the booths by the window. That was okay so I sat and waited for a few minutes till things settled down. One of the men brought me a watermelon shooter (non alcoholic) which was quite tasty but very small. Other than that there were only two bottles of water already on the table. I'm not crazy about plain water so I didn't drink either of these bottles. A lady came and set up a table behind me and began making what appeared to be meatless tacos. I was the only one in the restaurant at the time and a man finally came over and said you can start, meaning I could serve myself from the buffet. All the food was marked, unfortunately I didn't know what the names meant. I found out later from listening to a conversation that the servers had with other people that the food had been positioned in an L shape and everything on the left was vegetarian, while everything on the right was meat based. People started to come in at that point and the place filled up fairly well. After I got my food from the buffet and put it on the table, I went to the lady who was making the tacos and asked if I could have one. I also asked her what was in the taco and she didn't answer so I assumed she didn't speak English. Later I heard someone else ask her something and she did in fact speak English. She also never smiled. She just motioned for me to take it and leave I guess. No one ever asked me if I wanted a drink so I went without anything to drink for the meal. When I finished the first plate of food I put it off to the side and went back for another piece of chicken. There was also a smaller plate on the table from the taco I had eaten. No one ever came to clear off the dirty plates so my table became crowded with things I was trying to push off to the side so they wouldn't be in my way. A couple of the men were pleasant and smiled. No one ever came by to ask me if everything was all right. No one ever even came close enough that I could ask them to give me my check, and no one ever did give me a check. So I finally just got up and walked to the cash register and paid at the cash register. It would have been nice if someone could have communicated some of these things to me. While the food was good, I never really felt welcome there. I'm sure it was a lot of work preparing the food, but there are certain niceties that people just expect when they are in a restaurant. Apart from the little watermelon drink at the beginning, there really isn't anything else good I could say about the service at...
Read moreIt was the worst Indian food I have ever tasted. The only dish I ever eat is the eggplant and Gobi. As I was looking on the menu, I had to ask the nice gentleman what their version of eggplant was. He told me, and I proceeded to order that along with Onion Samosas. Another gentleman then brought out Samosas, and when I asked the original gentleman about the Onion Samosas I ordered, he said, "Oh, I thought you said Samosas."" He did nothing to rectify the situation, and quite naturally, I didn't want to seem combative, so I said nevermind. I didn't eat the Samosas, nor were they taken off of my bill as a mistake that the server made. The eggplant came out, and the presentation was very nice. It was colorful, but I immediately noticed two chili's on my food when I knew I told my server mild. I tasted the eggplant, and it was so bland. The flavor was lacking, but the spice was there. I honestly thought when my server saw how slow I was eating and asked me if I was pleased that he would again try to rectify the problem by maybe offering something else. I will say he kept trying to offer me butter chicken as if that was their specialty, but not everyone eats meat. I was not pleased, and the only reason why I decided to try this place out was because of the picture and the assumption that they had a buffet. When my server explained to me how their buffer worked, I immediately knew that there would be too much food for one person, so I opted for the entree instead. When I got up to pay for my food, my server asked me again if I was pleased, I immediately said no, and there was nothing done to try to appease me as a first-time customer. I will never try this restaurant out again as they don't believe in repeat...
