Katsunori Sushi Restaurant — Restaurant in Hesperia

The food was delicious but the service was horrendous.

We arrived at 3 pm on a Saturday and there was a 20 minute wait. We didn’t mind and had our name put on the list, sat in our car, and received a text message when it was our turn.

My friend ordered two rolls and I ordered a single roll - the ‘HD roll’.

After being seated and ordering we waited one hour before receiving our food. When it arrived, both of our orders came on a single serving dish. I asked for a plate so I can eat my roll and the server seemed upset by this and snatched the entire platter off of our table to have the sushi chefs replate it but I told her it wasn’t necessary I just needed a plate for myself. She made another server bring us a plate and made a comment about us ‘sharing’ even though we had each ordered separately.

No one checked on us the entire time we were eating to see if we needed anything and it took a while to get their attention to ask to pay. Our whole ordeal took more than 2 hours.

While we were waiting there was a customer who had been waiting for her to go order. As she was leaving I heard one of the chefs make a sarcastic comment about her to another chef. I didn’t think that was appropriate.

The restrooms were also dingy and had dead flies on the floor.

Despite the horrible service there was a lot of people waiting to eat here. They had a large group of people standing outside, quite a few waiting inside, and I am sure there were many sitting in their car. So, they must be doing...

I was a loyal customer for over 11 years. I respect the owners but with the current waitstaff the last three visits have been very bad. The food has always been great and the sushi chefs are amazing. This all means nothing when you have to wait 20 mins to be seated, (always Open tables in Zen and they dont use it) 20 mins to get drinks, (the wait staff had no masks!!! They use the dip the jug in a water bucket to refill the water jugs. Very gross. ) 45 mins for your sushi when the have half the restaurant not used. (They only have one sushi chef from 3-5pm ish everyday. They have breaks but don’t over lap one more chef to or an apprentice to pick up the extra slack.) I was so disappointed in the waitstaff michelle, bad energy and very much neglected her job. There were four open tables for almost ten mins and all of zen was open and she would not seat us. We waited for 20 mins watching the waitstaff joke with other staff and ignore their duties. Three tables were ready and they could have sat us after 10 mins of waiting. Another couple walks in and Michelle tells them that they only have one chef and it will take 1 hour. They said ok and she started taking their order. The other waitstaff never helped at all. I went last night for the first time to the Sushi O Sushi restaurant which is the new name for this place. I have tried sushi once and just tasted it at another sushi place in town I did not like it at all. When my Husband and I walked in they all greeted us which was a nice surprise for me. We sat at the sushi bar and right away we were greeted by two kind Ladies. Our order was taken we got our food quickly the sushi chefs were all so kind and kept us entertained while eating. I had a lot of questions about sushi because I was skeptical about the fish and the bad tasting sushi I had at the other sushi place. So the sushi chef assured me the food was good and encouraged me to try the food. It was so DELICIOUS! The reviews that I saw on the review here were all about 2 years ago. I think things changed because I saw nothing but GREAT SERVICE in this Sushi O Sushi place. The food was all fresh. I hope the people that wrote the old reviews on this site go back and at least try Sushi O Sushi again maybe things have changed with the new name. Thanks Sushi O Sushi for a wonderful dinner.
