Mama Fresh Grill Teriyaki — Restaurant in Hesperia

I was going to get Chinese food and came across Toyma Fresh Grill Teriyaki. I read some reviews first, and they were positive, so I decided to go for it. The place was clean, and there are several places to sit. I ordered the regular size teriyaki beef with steamed vegetables and rice and the mini size teriyaki chicken with steamed vegetables and rice. I appreciated that they offered a mini size. However, don't let the mini size fool you; it is still a nice-sized portion. They were very helpful and friendly and stopped what they were doing to answer my questions. I took the food home, and I have to say it was delicious. The vegetables included cabbage, carrots, broccoli, and onions, which were cut up bite-size, which I appreciated. The teriyaki flavor was really good and not overpowering. No place is perfect; the only negative I could come up with is the main menu is to the right of the register, up on the wall. I am used to seeing menus above the register, but no biggie; I looked around and found it. They also have specials written on boards in front of the register, which are very easy to see. Food=great. Service=great. Price=great. This place is way better than we thought it would be. It is an unassuming restaurant with a narrow front window. It is very brightly lit which shows how clean it is but it does not look very warm and inviting. That's the only constructive criticism I have. The rest of the experience was great. The employees are friendly and kind. They checked on us at our table a couple of times even though it's an order-at-the-counter place. The owner checked to make sure we were enjoying the food and brought more teriyaki sauce. He's a nice guy. The food is made fresh to order. It's not an oily Chinese dive with stale noodles. It takes 10-15 mins to get your food. Worth it. The prices are really good, $10-$14 for a regular meal which is like pre-pandemic prices. I got the shrimp with rice and veggies for $13. So many shrimp! Some places give you 6 measly shrimp. This place gave me around 16! That will bring me back for sure. Please don't change that! Good flavors, extra sauce if you ask....

This place was so good! I ordered a mini chicken teriyaki on soba noodles, the chicken was tender and tasty, the veggies were fresh, and noodles had great texture and flavor. The mini was very affordable and filling. The service was friendly and nice, the owner came out and checked on us a few times.

We will definitely make this our go-to food stop when we travel through! Highly recommend.

Recommendation note to the owner, I would suggest creating a warmer space inside! At first glance it seems like fast food because of the factory lighting, white tables, and no pictures. But the food is actually really fresh and far from fast food. Highly recommend warmer lighting, nicer carpets, colorful pictures on the walls, non white table top (peel and stick wood look or a nice design), maybe some fake plants. This might help...
