Delicias De Nicaragua — Restaurant in Hialeah

I've been here several times. The food is authentic. I never thought about leaving a review before today. Having just had one of the best Nacatamales I've had in a long time, I had to leave a review.

The food is good. I usually get the carne asada with gallopinto and maduros. I saw that they had a nacatamal and ordered one. Holy cow! Its divine! I ordered one with spice but man was it good. So much flavor throughout. I love this place. They are nice and they hhave a bunch of Nicaraguan treats that you can buy. Reminds me of my deceased mom and all of her snacks she'd get me as a child.

I had a disappointing experience at Delicias de Nicaragua in Hialeah Gardens. I ordered a Jarritos drink and a banana soda, only to be shocked when the bill came — they charged $5 each! Nowhere was this pricing disclosed ahead of time, and frankly, it’s ridiculous to charge that much for drinks you can buy at a fraction of the cost elsewhere. I expect some markup at a restaurant, but $5 is excessive and feels like a rip-off. The lack of transparency about the prices beforehand only made it worse. Probably the worst fritanga in all of South FL, or has become that, previous owners were much better. Quality of food is a disgrace to the Nicaraguan culture. In a pandemic where restaurants were arguably one of the most affected industries, you would think this business will do anything to capture sales. Showed up at 8:10pm, schedule on the door says they close at 9:00pm, I approach the door and an employee inside signaled that they were closed in an unprofessional manner! Stay away...
