Hickory Cafe & Arcade — Restaurant in Hickory

The only reason this place proceeded to get 3 stars is because the food was good. I was excited to eat here and had been looking forward to it for a while. If you are looking for an arcade, this place is not it. They had 2 arcade machines that were blocked off with stuff in front of them. Needless to say you cant play them. So i sat down and ordered food. They immediatly brought my check with my food and didnt check on me the entire visit for anything until i was leaving. Luckily i didnt need a refill or anything. Food is ok but it is not a cafe and arcade ! It is a diner only I went there to eat and play a game. Dodge this place if you are thinking neat I can grab a burger and play pac man. Brief interaction with the owner after eating there back to back days as I am leaving, I ask a question as I am walking out and the owner gives a look to one of her worker's behind my left shoulder that gave me the feeling I should find somewhere else to eat that final day I was in Hickory. When we go to the best salon (Studio 3) downtown to get our hair fixed in the morning we always pop in and grab some wonderful food. The breakfast options are great but the lunch menu is where it's at!!! Nothing beats a nice juicy, sloppy cheeseburger and fries. Or try the special plate lunches they offer. The open face steak sandwich with fries and slaw is killer!!! Only thing is i wished they stayed open past...
