Temaki Japan Japanese food — Restaurant in Hickory

I am not one to leave a bad review but with this service I feel obligated. We called in our order the same food/order we place Everytime. We picked it up 30 mins after order was placed to be asked what we ordered and they woman told us one of the plates they could not make which was rice with broccoli and mushrooms. I know that was not true because I order that every week. Then she proceeds to tell us we couldn't make any of the order because we didn't know what to do about the vegetable plate. She then said we could leave since we didn't want to wait. Our impression was our order was never took and was trying to cover or justify their mistake. There was no apologies and we were met with hostility. What a joke for customer service and such a lack of regard for the customers time and experience. I had a bad day. Like arguing w my teenager, dealing with passive aggressive vibes at work, family sick, overwhelmed, everything going wrong type of day. Called like three restaurants and they were all closed bc of the holiday. Temaki answered and took my order and it was ready in 15mins. The food was amazing. Hot, fresh, huge portions, completely exceeding all my expectations and I’ve been here before. The man at the window asked if I’d like a drink and i declined. He said, “it’s on us- Pepsi or tea?” He proceeded to give me the biggest sweet tea and the biggest smile. It was the first good thing that happened to me all day. Amazing food and...

Avoid this place! I wanted to love it because it's very convenient but I waited in the drive thru (only way to get food) for more than 30 minutes AFTER my food was supposed to be ready. Get to the window and the order I called in was read back to me incorrectly. More waiting. Got home and order was missing items and, as I expected after very long wait, COLD. Crab Rangoon was very cold and mushy. The carrots was the best part of the meal and one of the things left off of one of the entrées.
