After arriving on Friday evening around 7 o’clock, four of us walked in only to stand at the front of the restaurant. No host there to greet anyone. We we’re waiting on four others to join us for dinner. When the server or hostess or whoever it was walked over to greet us, she was exceptionally rude.
The first words out of her mouth were, “We are on about a 35 to 45 minute wait.” (with a scowl on her face) As if she didn’t want us to dine in the restaurant at all. Understaffed or not.
I have lived in this town all of my life and I would prefer to support local business. I can assure you that I will never go back into this place. Nor will the two guests from Europe who own a large furniture business in this town.
We would’ve loved to go and sit at the bar while we waited and enjoy a drink or two but her attitude, this not the first time we’ve experienced it, was ridiculous.
I would think with the new remodel that just took place growing the business would be something beneficial, but again I feel we basically were asked to leave. There’s no doubt she was deterring us from staying.
I’m sure there will be some lame reply like “I’m sorry your experience was not a good one”. We often try supporting this restaurant and when we do there is always 6-10 of us. I’m so frustrated about the service in this town and especially from a place like yours that is considered to be upscale.
Sincerely, A concerned resident of High Point who cares about great service in...
Read moreLast week I told a friend about Christina Greys. I told her that my husband and I had a wonderful meal there pre-Covid and that she should try it out.
So my husband and I decided to take my own advice tonight. What a disappointment. I don’t know if the restaurant is under new management but all I can say is we were underwhelmed.
The atmosphere was completely different as they had added another dining room and the lights were very bright. It lost the enchanting vibe. We then went to order and they were out of their signature meatloaf dish, which my husband had talked about for years.
We ordered something else and waited 40 minutes for our roasted chicken and grilled salmon dish. We were the only ones in the restaurant. I finally asked our waitress who wasn’t very good, if there was bread. She stated “I can get you bread if you want”. Sigh
She brought the bread out with our meal. The meals were over salted. The asparagus was tough and difficult to cut with the butter knife we were given. The risotto was very good, but the salmon and roasted chicken were bland. Not worth the trip to high point from Greensboro.
Such a disappointment. Great loss...
Read moreWe last dined here in early 2019 and concluded that absolutely loved this destination. Service, food and ambience was amazing. As we were considering a place for a “date night,” we opted to return (first time post-Covid). Probably not our best choice. Walked in and the host just stared at me … I actually had to say “can we have dinner here?” He then pointed to the room vaguely. After a few more questions I chose a table past the newer section into what we remembered as the cozy dining area. Obviously there has been a re-do since our last visit. Bottom line is that we were simply underwhelmed. Service was average. Food was average. Atmosphere was average. They were out of meatloaf (which I remember living in the past). My roasted chicken has zero flavor and the asparagus was pretty tough to eat. We had to ask halfway through the meal for bread. Not the worst place to eat, but there are far too many other options out there in the region if I’m spending money. I’d love to see this establishment return to what it was before. That said, maybe the decision is to cater to a different crowd and...
