Real Kitchen And Market — Restaurant in High Point

As a professional chef, I enjoy visiting new venues. Some of my friends suggested Real Kitchen. The concept of this restaurant is good -- light, imaginative fare at reasonable prices. However, there is dissonance to the entire operation. First, they do not have a chef, or even a cook - they have young girls with no culinary training in the kitchen preparing the food. Second, they have a problem with sending the tickets to the kitchen in a chronological fashion. We waited for an hour and twenty minutes for some salads and Thai tacos. The only staff member they had at the front of the house was at the bar - and she was trying to juggle all the beverage orders for 18 people (I counted) plus being responsible for expediting the food. The owner needs to have her head examined (she was not there, I was told). The food was tasty but the execution was execrable. If she calls me I would be happy to be an unpaid consultant to take this place to the next level, which can be done. In the meantime, unless the owner wants a total failure on her hands, she needs to spend A LOT more time on her management of both front and back of the house and...

Went 8/6/24 4:30. Good discount on Tuesday on good selection of wine. Club panini good but heavy , plan on sharing. Mahi tacos ok, would like sear on tuna and a small side. Staff friendly but prep slow , be prepared to wait. Good place to relax and enjoy friends.Returned 8/13/24. Flat bread just that flat.Needs better flavor and more/better ingredients. I would like more crispy. Wine and friends still great. 9/3/24-Had burrito bowl with chicken. Chicken very dry otherwise ok.Pimento cheese good, black beans and corn tasted right out of a can(try a squeeze of lime over it),hummus needs more garlic(my opinion).All menus need to be updated. Real Kitchen and Market offers delicious take-out food options that I often rely on in a pinch or for catering. I have noticed that all of their dishes are a hit with my husband, which tells me that they are really great. The staff who take orders are always friendly and provide excellent service.
