Captain D's — Restaurant in High Ridge Township

The batter on the batter dipped fish is almost always too thick and raw. The fish has a strong fishy odor. Sometimes it's really good, but it's usually gross fish at this location specifically. Especially with the afternoon crew. I won't go at all after shift change, but this time we went at close to 1 pm. When this same thing happened before on a different date, I just wanted a refund. The counter girl said they don't do refunds and got on the phone to call corporate or something but was on hold for a few minutes. She said she would take care of it and we didn't have to wait. Well she didn't. So, I don't trust this location or the reviews for the food and staff. It doesn't make sense that there are so many positive reviews for this location but the food almost always has raw doughy stinky fish. And I was never rude to anyone. I'm very nice and have never written a bad review on anywhere before. But some of these workers don't meet the standards that were...

I Ordered 3 Three piece batter dipped fish meals. Each with specific set of sides per meal. The meals came out fairly quick and really hot. Stopped in the parking lot to briefly check if everything was there and it looked ok at first glance so we proceeded home.

Once we got home though much to our dismay we found that instead of fish, we got duped and they gave us chicken. If I wanted chicken I would have gone to KFC right next door because not only does it taste better but it doesn't have a funky non-chicken like texture to it.

I guess from now on I know that not only do I have to visually check my order to make sure it's right before leaving, but I have to taste test everything too.

People complain about the worry about robots taking their jobs... If people would do their jobs correctly maybe there wouldn't be so much to worry about...

Captain D’s has an incredible manager who truly sets this location apart. She’s been with the restaurant for years and does an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly. No matter how busy it gets, she remains calm, friendly, and professional while wearing many hats—cooking in the back, working the front register, managing the drive-thru, and even cleaning. Her dedication and positive attitude are unmatched.

The restaurant itself is always spotless, and the food is consistently delicious.
