My husband and I spent the weekend at Ginnie springs for his birthday. When we drove in we saw this place and thought we would get pizza from there, the sign says they deliver. When we called to get delivery, they told us they don't deliver. So we drove into town and got there around 8:15. They close at 9:00 that day and we thought that would be plenty of time to not inconvenience them before they close. We ordered the Greek salad, the cheesy garlic bread, and a large pizza. The food was good. Wasn't exceptional, but it was good for a small town. Though we told them we wanted to dine in, not take out, all the food was brought to us in takeout containers, with no plates, no parmesan, no cracked pepper. They didn't even offer us a glass of water. We sat outside so they could close up the inside even though it was only 8:30 by this time. At 8:40, the owner of the place came to check on us and we asked if we could have some plates and he brought them to us, with some annoyed vibe. And then he told us that he was going to turn the lights off. I thought he was talking about inside the restaurant so I said okay. Next thing I know all the lights on the patio turn off and we're sitting there in the pitch dark trying to eat our dinner. I was shocked and upset and ask him why he turned the lights off and he said they were trying to leave and he clearly was upset and annoyed by us, but I feel like you don't close a restaurant when you have a customer sitting there trying to enjoy a meal, especially if you're supposed to be open. Quite rude, inconsiderate and uncaring to let your customers sit and eat in the dark. They did turn the lights on and waited for us to leave but he certainly didn't make us feel very welcome in his way of doing it. Food wasn't worth the feeling of being a burden. I wanted to get dessert, but they already locked the door and...
Read moreEvery year we leave the springs and say we’re going to stop and try this pizza. Today we stopped & Oh My God why have we not stopped before?? Sam’s literally has the best New York style pizza I have ever had in my life! Those wings were so good-cooked to order; they take 25 minutes but really you should wait for them. They stretch your dough and make your pizza right in front of you. The service was excellent! The young lady who helped us really knew the menu, she was so patient while we took our time and ordered because we really wanted some of everything. But we decided on a medium pepperoni and sausage and then a medium chicken, bacon ranch. This is my daughter’s favorite, and by far the best one we have ever tasted. we also ordered a 12 piece wings half mild half teriyaki. Of course it was hot outside so we got the largest Coke and sweet tea. They had 32 ounces and you get a free refill. You can’t beat that. We literally can’t wait to go...
Read moreThis is a perfect ANY DAY pizza shop. This is the highest praise I can give to a pizza place so I'll break it down in 2 parts: pizza and everything else
The xl pizza is very fairly priced and it is good pizza. It's the kind of pizza you want after work on a Friday or movie night with the kids. It's good classic pizza. The crust is chewy, the bottom is crispy, and the cheese is gooey. It's not gourmet truffle pizza and it's not trying to be. It's the pizza your soul craves after a breakup. It's good pizza.
The location is perfect of high springs locals, close and easy to get to. There's indoor and outdoor seating if you're coming from the springs. What really made me happy was the interior, playing late 90s, early 2000s country music a ragtag band of pizza shop employees buzzed away on the line. They were jovial, helpful and polite but looked like they could start a punk rock band...
