I came here with my mom because we have been going to Bob Evans for weeks now and she wanted a change of scenery. I've been do Denny's before and have always been fond of their omelets but their service and atmosphere there has always been questionable. Today we got a waitress who seemed like she just rolled out of bed and walked into work. The first booth we went to go sit at had crumbs all over the seat. I asked if it could be wiped down and she asked us to sit somewhere else (mind you this was after she told us anywhere on a specific side which meant every booth over there). After we sat down the waitress was quick about the coffee but I don't like that they don't have the french vanilla creamer like Bob Evans. I ordered an omelet (the ultimate omelet) which comes with bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms and some other stuff. It was my go to breakfast there in the past. Maybe because I have been on a new diet recently, this thing was salty as all heck. Between that and the hashbrowns I bet if I ate all of it the sodium intake would be enough for 2 whole days of the max sodium intake lol. The omelet was decent and I barely touched the hashbrowns. Overall it was an OK experience but I definitely prefer Bob Evans as their food doesn't taste so salty and it's just more upscale in a sense. Don't get me wrong though... if it was dinner time I would have gotten that nice big nacho dish Denny's has as that has never let me down.
Update 6/20/21 I don't know if it was COVID, the time of day or both but damn this location has taken a massive turn for the worse. I was here around 10pm on 6/19 and I arrived to one side of the restaurant looking as though a bunch of big groups of people had just left. There were dishes all over on 3 tables, 1 of them had a high chair out and fries all over the floor. Fortunately, we got seated on the clean side as the one lady called it. We were there for maybe an hour or so but the other side wasn't cleaned until about half way through our visit. In a way I was hoping nobody would clean it so I could post photos to show how nasty it was. Our waitress was really nice and moved quickly and checked on us multiple times. We chatted with the girl who was cleaning our side and she commented that she always keeps here side clean and we laughed when she compared it to "whatever that is" when referring to the messy side. So even an employee knew how bad it was. At check out, oh my... the counter there looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Greasy spots and finger prints. It looked so unsanitary. I realize they said they are short staffed, but still. You cannot have your restaurant looking that disgusting. Even for Denny's, there should be some...
Read moreBe careful if you are ordering online. I was able to order and pay. I even got a pick up time and email confirmation yet when I get to the store it’s a hand written note saying they are closed. If that’s the case stop letting people order online and you know you closed.
**UPDATE after being asked to give them another try by the "owner" from responding to my original review. I attempt to order food again. this time I call in the order to make sure I avoid the mishap from last time. someone answers and takes my order. I asked the gentleman on the phone was my order being placed at the Wilson mills location and he said yes. I arrive at the restaurant where there is only one server and I assume 1 cook. myself and 3 other customers waited for 20 minutes before the awful server even said anything to any of us. she rudely asked for my name and when I said I called in my order she proceeded to cut me off and say how she has no call in orders with my name on it. after I told her I called in the order and talked to an Indian fellow again she cuts me off and said there is nobody like that here. after she told me my order was not there I asked her how long it would be until they could make the order I placed and she told me again its only 1 cook and she is the only server. by this time I had been standing in Denny's for almost 45 minutes of my 30 minute lunch break. after that I just left with nothing. this location has repeatedly let me down and do not think I can allow your establishment to disappoint me again. this is not the quality of that I have come to be accustom to...
Read moreWent here this morning with my family as my parents made the trek up to see my son and to celebrate my mother's birthday. We decided to go to Denny's for breakfast, as it is close and very kid-friendly normally. When we ordered, my mother stated to the waitress that she wanted the Veggie Omelet without mushrooms, as she has an allergy to mushrooms. When the food came out, she was a few bites in and discovered a mushroom. I immediately called the waitress over. She apologized and took the omelet back. She brought out another, but roughly half way though, my mother stated that she needed to leave and get Benadryl into her system for her allergy, as her reaction was starting.
I took the bill up and made mention to the cashier that I didn't feel as though we should be charged full price for that item, as the staff had caused the problem themselves. She got the manager. The manager then came up very rudely and very coldly and stated that if she was going to have a reaction, she shouldn't have taken the second omelet. Seriously? He didn't offer a discount, a voucher. He didn't offer an apology!?!? He just asked, quite rudely, that we pay and leave. That man should not be working in customer service. If my mother's reaction worsens to the point that she needs medical care, that store could be liable. And to offer no remorse? Crazy.
All of this was after waiting 20 minutes to place an order, waiting five minutes for the manager to be able to break away from whatever else he was doing to come talk to me. Customer service at its very worst. Avoid this restaurant...
