Harmony Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Highland Park

I cannot speak for the quality of the coffee products here, but I DO NOT recommend the Citrus Sweet Tea. My expectation was that it would be something like a normal tea blended with lemonade, but this was not the case. Frankly, I'm not convinced there was tea of any kind in my cup. The citrus in question consisted of lemon zest floating around at the bottom of my drink. Every sip I took sent another chewy piece of lemon peel through my straw. Is it really that high a bar to expect that I won't have to chew my drink? The rest of the drink, as far as I could tell, was just water. Water and the tiniest bit of sweetener, which I was told was honey. The end result was something just barely edible, and I should hope I never have the misfortune of having this misbegotten concoction find its way into my mouth again. The drink itself, I give one star. I give the establishment itself a bit more credit, since I could appreciate the atmosphere as well as the friendly politeness of the staff. Coffee speaks was one of my favorite coffee shops years ago. I haven’t been in this area for quite a while so I’m not sure if they got bought out or changed the name, but the coffee and food did not live up to my expectations. I got a lavender latte and it tasted like boiled milk, no lavender. I also got a breakfast sandwich and was quite disappointed. I thought the sandwich had fast food quality like Dunkin’ Donuts and was expecting something way tastier. I also was sad to find out that they no longer have mini scones? Those were the best. I miss coffee speaks.
