La Taquiza Highland Park — Restaurant in Highland Park

Came here because I was out in Highland Park for Lunch.

I got the Birria (no cheese because lactose intolerant) with consomé. It was very delicious and came out quickly after ordering. I also had chips and guac which were delicious as well. I think the consome wasn’t as flavorful as I’ve had other in sort of a deeper broth flavor but was still yummy enough that I ordered a side of just consome.

I also had a house made Horchata which was some of the best Horchata I’ve had in a long time.

Service was fast and friendly, they even let my friend go thru the back to use the restroom. Highly recommend...

$42 for the worst mexican food I’ve ever had. Moe’s or Chipotle do a better job for half the price tag. Food was tasteless and the only flavor I could feel was burned bell peppers and the excess of raw onions. Everything was extremely cold and oily. Food is slightly pricey for what they served and the arrangement of the restaurant. The flavor of the food was good. I’m usually ok with greasy foods, but my tortillas had a small pond of oil in it from the meat. I was served and not given any utensils. Was served chile right away. No chips offered for eat in.
