This place is awesome! I’ve been there twice and it’s consistently excellent! Beautiful decor, excellent service ( thank you, Mustafo), fresh ingredients and lovely presentation! I had the lunch special-cheese enchilada, chicken enchilada, rice and refried black beans. The chef uses all fresh ingredients and you can truly tell the difference - seasoned shredded chicken enchiladas with a sour cream sauce-drizzled with a dash of pepper sauce- and the cheese enchiladas are nice and thick with a combination of American and Mexican cheeses. The refried beans are delicious and just the right consistency, and you can tell they’re not canned. Three salsa varieties served with warm, homemade tortilla chips greet you while you wait for your cocktail of choice ( I recommend the spicy Michelada) which isn’t on the menu, but should be! I think the restaurant is kid friendly, because they do have a kids menu, however, I’d recommend leaving the kids at home for an enjoyable and adult date night. The margaritas look delicious and they offer a wide assortment of ritas. Do not hesitate...
Read moreSuperrrr fresh delicious latin cuisine. We got the calamari, red snapper plate, and fish tacos. The calamari was small, thick rounds and had a hushpuppy tasting batter. I typically prefer a panko type of crust but this was tasty! I appreciated that each one was small enough to eat whole if preferred. I’d give this dish 4/5
The fish tacos were made from beer battered red snapper that was perfectlyyy cooked. Snapper has the tendency to dry out quickly so I was surprised just how juicy the fish was. The slaw and sauce also complimented the fish well. 5/5
The snapper plate came with a side of lightly sautéed veggies and cilantro rice. I really appreciated that the vegetables were not an after thought and were cooked well but still nice and crisp. The fish was grilled and imo was slightly overcooked. Not much- as it wasn’t dry at all. maybe just by 1-2min. The sauce made up for it though! 5/5
Lastly we got the top shelf margaritas. Appreciated that they used a repasado tequila and the flavors were well balanced.
Will definitely return in future when...
Read moreMy new favorite Latin (not Mexican) restaurant in Denton County! I've gone four times at different times of the day and night so far. Not only has the food been good, it's been some of the best I've ever had. The tacos, steaks, the Guatemalan Breakfast plate, and this morning, the Chef's Breakfast Sandwich, have all been incredible.
Usually I'm a beer and whiskey drinker but this morning I tried the watermelon margarita (don't judge) made with fresh watermelon, and again, stupendous.
Breakfast for two, with drinks, came to just over $50 -- not bad considering you'd spend at least that much at Old West for plain, old eggs and coffee and no adult beverages.
Also, every customer gets complementary chips that come with three kinds of salsa.
Service is great. Last night, the dining room was packed and some singles mixer group had bought out the bar but we never felt neglected or rushed.
The restaurant inside is very nice, with a spacious bar area and a slim patio out front if you want to...
