Sleep Number — Hotel in Highland Village

We bought a split king bed a few years ago and found that the mattress part near the head of the bed kept slowly slipping apart. This ended up causing, after a few years, a 4 to 6 inch gap to appear, or, as my wife calls it, the grand canyon, because when you're sleeping, a 4 inch gap between two parts of the bed is simply too much. We contacted Sleep Number and they told us we had to contact the base warranty people, which we did. We received some parts from the people who make the bases, at a cost of an extra $320+ (on top of the over $10,000 for the bed itself), because when we followed the instructions to take the mattress off the base, we found that the bed was only attached at 3 points per side, rather than the 6 available on the base, and that some of the flexfit attachments on the covers were damaged, with one of the 3 tabs broken. As such, we bought the additional targets and what we thought would be the magnet assemblies for the mattress covers. To our surprise, the flexfit attachments (what goes on the covers themselves and what the magnets then screw into) were not included. When we called back, it turns out that they don't sell that part, and that we needed to contact Sleep Number again. I called Sleep Number, only to be told that they don't sell the flexfit attachments separately, and that I would need to buy a whole new mattress cover, at an additional cost of several hundred dollars. This is absolute BS, the if they have parts which break which fit into a mattress cover, those parts should be available separately. This is a money grab left and right.
