My family and I tried Delhi6 for my birthday dinner! I was in particular super excited since I am a Delhite foodie and crave for a fine dining authentic Indian food experience here in Dallas! Delhi6 turned out to be a great choice - exquisite ambience, carefully put togther artifacts, like a cute handpump or age old cooler bringing back a nostalgic smile, twinkle and a pleasant topic of conversation in a comfortable yet contemporary setting! The service was great with an enthusiastic, smiling staff going above n beyond to ensure that we have a good experience. Even though the place was super crowded, it had a surreal calm indicating that things are in control and managed pretty well using the latest technology with Ipads etc. for constant n fast communication to the kitchen! So fast that while we were still placing our order, we cdn't switch it since the ordered item had apparently already moved to the kitchen! So be completely sure of what u want before u start ordering! Now to the most important part - the Food! The food presentation, silverware, freshness, temperature has been very well thought and ideal. We are vegetarian and ordered mild. For appetizers, we ordered a mixed platter that came with samosas, spring rolls, cutlets and paneer pakodas alongwith the traditional dips. Loved every bite especially of the flavorful cutlet and paneer pakodas, so fresh that they were actually melting in the mouth! We alos tried Tikka Masala Penne Pasta with vegetables - super creamy with Tikka sauce and was nicely done. My teen daughter loved it! For main course, we ordered Dal Makhni, Malai Kofta, Onion Kulcha and Garlic Naan. Both breads were fresh, soft and boasted of traditional Indian spices carefully embodied in for tatse and digestion. The Dal Makhni was decent, however too red and slightly salty though simmered well! The Malai Kofta was a bummer - extremely salty and hard koftas and we barely touched it! It could be that one day goof up, I would like to give them the benefit of doubt, given they were phenomenal in everything else! The RasMalai dessert, though didn't appear to be made in house was customized with a touch of pistas n saffron. I should have probably tried their kheer which would be more authentic. Summing up, the passion of the Jain bothers and their attention to detail to tiniest of the things that are critical to defining a restaurant experience was pretty evident and the fact that they have been an award winner for last three years tells me they are consistent! I sure am going back, with a bigger group of my friends to try additional items. Thanks for brining Delhi6 to us...
Read moreWent on a whim. Excellent service. Had a great drink (Mezcal paloma). Everything was very good. We asked for spice level of higher than medium, however, and felt like there were no spices at all. I guess you have to be careful when two white people ask for spice. But, without spice, my husband and I aren't interested. We got their version of a chicken korma dish, which I tend to always get the first time I go to a new Indian spot (or Chicken Tikka Masala). It's just a litmus test thing for me, like getting a Margarita pizza at a Neopolitan pizza place. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't great. It was chunks of chicken in gravy. I need more than chunks of meat and gravy. Husband got another chicken dish.I forgot what it was called. It was something new. On the specialties menu. It was better than mine. Kind of a drier, pan-fried kind of chicken dish. We also got samosas. Good, but not the best I've had. We got an appetizer of Jalepeno pakora. It came with mint chutney and sauce. It was the best thing we ate. Basically Indian jalapeño poppers. The breading was great. We got jalapeño garlic Naan. Fantastic.
Atmosphere was great, kind of upscale. But we were so close to the tables to our left and right that we were uncomfortable talking. We barely talked because we were basically sitting with the two tables next to us. We couldn't really talk to each other because we didn't want people ne f to us hearing our conversation. it was very uncomfortable. My husband hated it. I think that kind of ruined the experience for him. I could see his discomfort the whole time. Too close. I will say, the kitchen/chef needs to explain al the dishes to the staff. I know it's a big menu. But the staff shouldn't be telling all of their tables that they don't know what a dish is or what's in it. And I heard that over and over from multiple servers last night. Just school them up. But the staff was all very polite. Maybe even overly polite. They are doing a great job in there. It feels like a new restaurant. I don't know if it is or not. They just need to do some tweaks. More spice. It's Indian food. White Americans know what they are getting into. Give us some spice. Separate the tables a little. Maybe make the dishes 15% more complex (add some peas or potatoes or something to some of those dishes, some texture, something). And teach your staff about everything. They want to learn. Overall, good meal, good place. Just can't give it five stars...

Thank you for suggesting to go read what you’ve been commenting on the other reviews. I did and It is truly shocking the way you conduct yourselves. You state you would like civility and yet you’ve ranted on other negative reviews from the day NOT associated with our party at all and insinuated that we are part of some big cabal. I hope you realize how unhinged that is.
Furthermore, In your responses, you’ve neither shown professionalism nor this civility that you ask of everyone else. Only pettiness.
You ask for positivity after providing a very negative experience at your establishment. I feel again that this irony is only lost on you.
And when multiple people give a negative review AFTER visiting your establishment instead of rushing to be a keyboard warrior and being crass to the reviews behind a facade of civility and declaring any negative comment against your establishment is a bot take the time to learn from it.
You have a lot of great reviews for your establishment too but our party did not experience it. My review reflect my negative experience. As a small business I hope you learn from it and improve.
I doubt you’re sincerity but I would be happy to discuss the matter with you as well.
Adding edit for the restaurants 1st response -
you provided a awful service to an entire party and every individual in the party is well within their rights to provide an individual review of their bad experience at your establishment.
Being a “small business” is not an excuse for the awful service.
The irony of bringing up nationality while simultaneous providing a horrible experience to people of the same nationality is only lost on the people running this establishment.
I’d suggest who ever is running the place spend their energy on addressing the shortcomings of the establishment instead of feeding their own delusions.
Original review Atrocious service. We were made to wait for a long time and kept getting told that the table would be available in “15 minutes” for 45 minutes. But weren’t allowed to wait inside at 3 pm and were expected to wait outside in the 100f heat...
