I'm so mixed on this one. I was greeted by a gentleman who was making fresh meat in the kitchen area. He yelled up for someone to help me and my group. Every other employee ignored us. Finally the nice man said he'll help us out. He changed his gloves washed his hands after working with raw meat. He was able to do thar before any other staff stopped to look at us. He was so pleasant! I could not see his name fully on his name badge but it was either Jason or James (faded). He gave suggestions and had friendly conversation while moving us through the line fairly quickly. There were three other employees talking by the drive through window who could have helped but I guess they needed to chat more. As the nice guy was working with us another fine young man named Ammon came up and did not hesitate to help us on the other side of the serving area. Ammon and the other guy had so much positivity, speed and customer service skills that they made this review as good as it is. I absolutely love the two employees ability to work well and positivity together. Made our expirince really a good one. I tried one chicken and one stake taco as recommended and they were the best meats I have ever had at Costa Vida. Whoa! Soft, juicy, fresh and flavorible. My wife had the pork salad. She loved it. Amazing job! The lobby was somewhat messy, they must of had a lunch rush. After serving us the two guys that helped us started cleaning the sitting area and cleaned an area for us to sit. This again while they were doing other jobs and their co-wirkers were chatting and on their phones. Once the Jay name guy had all the blue trays he went back and started making more meat. Ammon asked us how our meals were. Sadly Ammon went back to clean or do something and the bathroom looked scary. It is clear that this location uses some if their staff way, way more then others. This place would have been a zero star if it was not for those two staff stepping up and being absolutely amazing! Promote them. Teach the other people better skills and time management. Get that...
Read moreI was so excited when a Costa Vida was announced closer to my home. However, I've been here 4 times now and 3 of those times have been ... not great. I thought it might be because it was a new location and they needed to work out the kinks, but my most recent visit was still bad. The first time I was in the drive thru for 40 minutes. I excused this, thinking they were still training new employees.
The next time, I went inside hoping for a better experience. I had my family with me and the interior was so crowded it was hard to enjoy ourselves. Parking was difficult because the lot was so small and the interior was packed too closely. There was also an issue because this location charged for extra lettuce while other locations didn't. I understood and said we'd probably just not order lettuce dishes at this location and we'd only use the drive thru.
The next time, I went by myself and went during off hours. This helped and things went well.
This most recent time, the service was a lot quicker but the food quality was still poorer than other Costa Vida locations. We ordered a salad and the portion size was tiny. The lettuce and meat were both scarce. My quesadilla was thrown together haphazardly and looked like a mess. I've had better school lunches!
Overall, strike three for me at this location. I love Costa Vida and will continue to eat at other locations. I might reconsider at this location if they improve their food quality to match...
Read moreMy wife and I try for lunch every Friday, however our last lunch date on Friday (Valentines Day) was horrible. I got one steak and one chicken taco. The steak was 100% overcooked. The chicken was so dry it felt like chewing bubble gum. My wife had had a pork salad, there was no beans, just watery bean juice on it. There was a young man making tortillas, who refused to help us and would avoid eye contact with us because our delayed service. If he's not trained to help customers, maybe he can find someone who can. Finally a nice young woman named Savi started our order but seemed exhausted or overwhelmed/overworked, I bet she was doing to many jobs. The nice young man name Ammon was very, very professional. He almost made the negative/prolonged line wait worth while. The sad part, is I like to take buisness clients of mine to this location, I was there the Tuesday before this Valentines day and the tacos were perfect and my clients had no complaints. As one buisness professional to the next, manage your teams better. Your staff seem overloaded. I've seen thus before and I bet management is pinching pockets to reduce wage costs for an end...
