Do not go here! My wife and I tried this restaurant Saturday night after dining here for more than 10 years under the previous ownership and loving it. We were seated a little before 8:00. Immediately the manager came over and apologized for the expected delay in getting a server assigned to us, saying they were slammed, even though there were tables open. (He acted as if he was surprised they were busy even though it was a Saturday night.) A very nice waitress took our orders at 8:05 but warned us it would be a while before they came out. At 8:45 she brought out my wife’s shrimp but told me the kitchen had just now informed her they were out of Mahi, which I ordered. My wife and I were left with a choice – leave and try to eat somewhere else at 9:00 or order a replacement entrée, which I knew was going to be rushed but not come out until after my wife was done eating. We stayed – big mistake. My chicken was rubbery and the franchaise sauce tasteless. I asked to see the manager again. He came over and asked how everything was. I answered not good, explaining that my meal was horrible. I asked how it was possible that it took 40 minutes for the kitchen to tell our waitress they were out of Mahi and he said it was the first he was hearing of it. I told him we should have left then and he said, “Maybe you should have.” I was stunned. He said my entrée was on the house and I replied both entrees should be on the house for the inconvenience. He said, “I’m trying to work with you here but now you’re being abrasive.” I was doubly stunned, as I was quite professional in speaking to him. In short, the service was horrible, one entrée was inedible and the manager was both incompetent and rude. To boot, the valet was high as a kite, but at least he didn’t dent our car. That’s the best I can say about the new Inlet Café. DO...

We had a terrible experience eating at the Inlet Cafe. When we walked in the hostess was pretty much clueless and told us she had to ask the manager how long the wait was. They told us 30 minutes which was fine and expected since it was a Saturday night. We waited outside and there was a band which we enjoyed (the only reason for 2 stars). After 30 minutes we started noticing new groups walking in and getting sat right away so after 45 minutes of waiting my husband went up to ask about the status of our table. The hostess had no clue there was even a list of people waiting outside for tables and told us to sit wherever we wanted. After being sat, we waited another 20 minutes to find out there was no server assigned to our table. We flagged down the manager and he quickly took our order. Over all the food was not good. The calamari and band bang shrimp were dry, the shrimp didn’t even have any sauce on them, the sushi was subpar and the the lobster roll was good but ended up making my husband sick. The menu was completely different than the one listed online. As we were sitting we noticed many other tables being forgotten about or neglected. My husband and I both worked at restaurants for many years so we get that they were probably understaffed, but frankly they could have cared less about anyone’s experience. A little transparency goes a long way so it would have been nice for them to at least mention they’re understaffed tonight and apologize for all the...

So very dissapointed. Have always looked forward to patronizing this waterfront restaurant every year until now. Everything from start to finish was bad. Poor service, overpriced, unorganized hot mess! Hostess greeted us and then was talking to someone for 10 min so we finally just sat ourselves. Ordered a Sauvignon Blanc from the menu and was served a reisling or maybe Moscato. Was told that was all they had but they tried to just pass if off and not tell me. I always get the inlet clams and they are not at all what the previous menu item was. Not even close. However they were still called inlet clams on the menu. Watched as the expediter would bring out food to the wrong tables. Watched as our sushi roll was offered to 2 tables before it got to us and the second item came later. Never once did the server come back to our table after we ordered our food. Not for a drink refill or to see if the food was good, nothing. I had to get up and go find our server to ask for our check right away because we had to leave. Unacceptable. Mind you the place was not super busy, most tables were full but no wait list when we arrived. So sad to see this great place be run so poorly now. People will go for the view but I will not. Made for a frustrating end to what was a perfect beach day. Will not return and will not reccomend any longer. I feel like I need to send out a retraction to all my friends that I have previously reccomend...

I don’t even do reviews but my experience was so bad it had to mentioned. First, we walked in and waited for some one to acknowledge us to be seated. It was busy but at least 5 staff members walked by without even acknowledging we were there. It wasn’t really busy. Ok whatever, let’s overlook that. After seating, and given menus, 10 minutes pass without anybody ask us about anything. Then a waiter drop off calamari that wasn’t ours. We didn’t even order yet. Then another waiter came by and asked if we ordered the steamers. We didn’t order yet! Finally someone comes, we order drinks. Glass of wine and 3 Cokes. 15 minutes later we get a glass of wine and the waiter I’ll go check in your order. We didn’t order yet unless you mean our 3 Cokes that we didn’t get yet. Whatever. Let’s overlook that. The food was worse then imaginable. Think of the worse seafood place you ever been to and go down another two notches. I’m not kidding. The New England clam chowder was watery and bland. Fried calamari was those fake rubber band rings. Stuff flounder was soggy and Luke warm. Understanding that this wasn’t such a great place I hedged my bet by ordering some deep fried. Mistake, the shrimp, clam strips, fish fillet was burnt and dried with stale oil. The scallop was raw. Apparently they fried it from frozen and it burnt but never cooked. Can’t overlook that. Awful, awful, awful.

Our last two experiences here have been Very undesirable and after this last visit will likely not return. We preferred to sit outside but took first available and were told 20 mins. We were sat inside after 30 min wait and were the only table in there so not sure why we waited a half hour to be seated. After waiting over an hour for our food once we sat with two kids under the age of 5, the grilled chicken came out cold so it’s unclear how long it was sitting in the back. I asked the waiter if the fish and chips are crispy because I like well done battered fish he told me yes. When we got the bill, there was a $4 charge for extra crispy fish which is crazy especially since it was no more crispy than another members’ of our party!! We also were charged for 2 orders of garlic bread when we only received one. I’ll give it to the one girl with dark hair who offered us a shot to account for the long wait but while we came by boat and with two young kids, we were not going to take shots. She also took off the salad with the cold chicken and when I brought the extra crispy fish charge to her attention she said she would adjust it. Other than her, who was not even our waitress, the service was pretty terrible. I don’t think we saw our server again after placing our order. we will not be returning and highly recommend proving ground next door if you are in that area.

No more Great location, relaxed ambiance, relaxed service, good food. Updated: 8/12/22 I've been coming back ever since my 1st visit 4yrs ago. The mixed drinks are hit or miss so I stick with beer. The steamers were my go to but beware... they now give less but charge more, a whopping $30 and they charge a $4 service fee for using a credit card but don't tell you up front and you have to ask for an itemized bill; otherwise they just sneak it in there. Today I got the steamers and a cocktail and my bill was $48 ??? For the same view, level of service and quality of food Bahr's is a better value @ $26 for more steamers. It's ridiculous to have a $50 bill for steamers and a drink. Truly disappointed in The price gouging. 8/23/2023 Under new management. That same plate of about 25/28 steamers for $30 is now only 15 steamers for the same price. Literally cut the quantity & quality of food in half but charges the same $30. That's the last of my business they'll ever get. Completely new wait staff, all inexperienced and not customer service focused. Unable to answer simple questions. New owner hasn't bothered to clean the outside patio of old spilled ketchup and beer on the walls, napkins were on the floor. No more atmosphere, no quality, ridiculous pricing.
