I had bought a voucher for the Chubby Pickle off Living Social. I was bringing a group of 9 adults and a toddler(highchair) none of us had ever been there, we were all very excited and hungry. I had called in advance to see if we needed reservations and to tell them how many people and we needed a highchair for the baby. We were traveling an hour north to get there so I gave them a roundabout time of 5:30/6 pm. First off we had traveled in 3 cars, there was no parking lot so we all had to find places to park on the street, okay no biggie. So, we walked inside to find there are maybe 4 tables which are all packed with people in their "restaurant" part & the bar is lined with people. Were all gathered in front of the door waiting for someone to greet us and finally I guess a waiter walked over and I had told him I called earlier and we were here and he goes "oh, you said you'd be here by 6". I looked over at the huge digital clock on the wall it says 6:08 in my head I'm like are you freaking serious! I kinda gave him that look and he went and spoke with an older gentlemen, came back to our group and said well that table just finished you could wait for that table about 15/20 min. I was furious at this point because there was no guarantee that "this table" of people are going to get up and leave and my whole group is literally standing in front of the door, I was so embarrassed because this was my idea. Plus I have my 14 month old who is hungry and cant hangout at the bar and wait for 20 minutes. So we said forget it and walked across the street to this place called Bahrs Landing, who were very understanding and took our large group with no problems. We happily spent over $500 at this restaurant and would definitely go back.

The pictures on here are very deceiving, I would say a dive. I don't even care if other people say the food is good, I do not recommend purely based on service! Its also no place for children. I was so embarrassed by the whole situation plus I wasted my money on the voucher I bought from Living Social because I'll...

Been coming here since it's opening. It's a good place to have a delicious sandwich with a cold draft and enjoy the music of talented musicians. We have experienced its ups and downs in service over the years. In the past few years the service and kitchen staff were on point and food was very good. However, this year, it has gone down. On holiday weekends and nights that have popular bands who bring in large crowds, there should be way more than 2 bartenders who are also working as waiters, taking table orders for food and drinks. Meanwhile, there's 4 or 5 runners and bar backs who are running back and forth, serving food, cleaning up, etc. So unorganized and disconnected this weekend. While the waitress/bartender told our table the food wait was going to be like 20-30 minutes because the kitchen was backed up, it took over 30 minutes to put a drink and app order in. Then, another 1-1/2 hours before we even got our sandwiches. The food was swimming in grease, and the fries were whimpy rubbery greasy strings. I couldn't eat them and afraid to ask the staff to cook them more - knowing I'd be waiting another hour before I'd get them back. It was a big disappointment. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria, which we have done many times before. This time, it was a pitcher of ice with barely 4 small plastic cups of sangria in it and no fruit. And a friend who sat at the bar put an order in for apps and never got them. After 2 hours, they asked where's the food and told it was "still coming"? The staff held onto their credit card for the open tab. Hope they weren't charged for it. Very uncoordinated, inconsistent service. The management needs more staff who are better trained to help keep this fine establishment on the books! It would be sad to see them go down like Dr. G---pys - which was once a great place to eat, drink, and chow down here...

My boyfriend and I were in the area and decided to stop at the chubby pickle today. We’ve always loved the chubby pickle and are very familiar with the bar as my dad and his band play there frequently. We sat at the bar and asked for a Jameson shot since it’s my boyfriends birthday and a Jameson neat for me (my usual my boyfriend isn’t a whiskey drinker hence the shot). The older male bartender with gray hair who’s name I didn’t bother to ask, proceeded to “man-splain” to me the difference between ordering a drink neat and a shot which I found profoundly rude! When I told him “the shot is fine, thank you” he looked my boyfriend in the face and said “yeah, yeah he looks like that type”… I’m beyond upset. I really do like the chubby pickle but this was an unacceptable interaction and we both felt uncomfortable to stay and enjoy another drink. We closed out and left. Hope it will be a different experience the next time. I’m not particularly fond of this bartender after today’s wonderful experience but perception is reality and we all have to be mindful of thinking things through before...

The Chubby Pickle Est. 2012 Layout/atmosphere *U-shaped bar to the left (frozen margarita machine), high tables to the right, small stage in the back for live music (Fridays/Saturdays), ten TVs, funky paintings on the wall, beer taps on beams below the ceiling; tables outside under an awning Food/drink *Chubby Sauce Wings (Buffalo & chipotle blend) with celery, carrots & blue cheese - quite good; sauce itself was creamy and the heat came on the back end; eight wings to an order *Avocado Toast Burger (10 oz. beef patty, Cheddar Jack cheese, avocado, pico de gallo and chipotle mayo on Garlic Toast) with house fries - OK; big portion; toast was too thick and therefore weighed heavy with each bite; the burger was cooked fine but it felt as if all the toppings blended together without working together, the mayo standing out the most from the crowd; the fries were crispy & salted, no complaints there *Twin Lights Euphoria IPA (draft) - above average; light-bodied, citrusy

We went there for Mother’s Day with my son and daughter-in-law after they completed their race on Sandy Hook. We met her parents there too. Great company for sure. Three people had pickletinis, I had a delicious espresso martini and the dads had other drinks. The kids followed up with a rum bucket and I had a second espresso martini. 4 of our party had burgers, I had a BLT which was delicious and the other mom had a chicken sandwich. The server was excellent, the food was delicious as were the drinks. My only real complaint was, I am disabled and there was no ramp at the entrance. Thank goodness I had swapped from my wheelchair to my walker so, with help, I was able to get in. We were glad it wasn’t mobbed for Mother’s Day. Would I go back? Sure would!

If you're looking for a great neighborhood type bar, look no further. My wife and I are new to the area and wanted to try something out on a Saturday evening- this place pleasantly surprised us. The atmosphere was definitely a nice cozy neighborhood style. It had a personality to it, they had a chalkboard of daily events like trivia and karaoke. The night we went they had live local bands/musicians playing. The food was also very good pub style food and the drinks didn't disappoint either. It's definitely checked off as one of our go-to places now. Our only slight suggestions would be slightly bigger TVs behind the bar (but there are PLENTY in the space) and parking was slightly tricky- but those don't lower it below 5 stars for us)
