Last night, bae and I decided to give Taqueria Los Primos a try, mainly because of all the hype surrounding it. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the expectations. We ordered through Uber Eats, and the restaurant is only about 13 minutes from my house. When I arrived, the place was well-lit with plenty of parking, which was a good start. There was one person ahead of me, and several others were standing around waiting for their orders.
When it was my turn, the cashier completely ignored me and started chatting with the guest behind me about their pending orders. Once she finally acknowledged me, I told her I was picking up an Uber Eats order for Paris, but she just stared at me like she didn’t understand. I had to point out the bag sitting on the table behind her. After grabbing my order, I checked everything in the car to make sure it was right.
I then asked bae to go back in and grab me a medium horchata. That took way longer than expected, considering there was only one person ahead of him. The customer in front was indecisive, which delayed him. Then, when bae got to the register, the cashier walked away, and a man took over. Bae asked for the horchata, but the guy asked, “What kind of meat do you want for the taco?” Now, bae mispronounced “horchata,” but it still didn’t sound like “taco.” I clarified over speakerphone, and after some confusion, he finally came out with the drink. I have to say, their horchata was solid.
Once we got home, we dove into the food, and I quickly realized how dry all the meats were—I felt like I needed water just to swallow. I ordered a pollo, a carnitas, a barbacoa, and an asada taco. To be fair, the carnitas taco was decent and not as dry as the others, but the barbacoa was filled with fatty pieces, which was disappointing.
Now, let’s talk about the elote. Baby, they did that! It was the highlight of the meal, hands down. Every bite was packed with flavor, and I didn’t come up for air until I finished, corn kernels stuck in my teeth and all.
Overall, the food was reasonably priced for the area, and the portion sizes were fair. However, I wouldn’t go back. Customer service is important to me, and unfortunately, the tacos didn’t hit the mark either. I love Mexican food, but this place just...
Read moreUpdate:The food is absolutely horrible. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, Mexican corn, and Nopales y Cebollines. I asked for extra veggies since I didn't want the rice, beans, and tortillas. First of all, the shrimp was flavorless, rubbery, and smelled fishy. I ate two and couldn't eat anymore. The pico de mayo was not fresh and mushy. The guacamole was also not fresh! It was brown. Even the lime that came with the pico de mayo wasn't fresh. I will say the corn was good, but I will spend another dime in that place! I went to Chick fil a like I was starting to do in the first place. $40 down the drain!
I wanted to try somewhere different and came across this restaurant after doing a Google search. Even though I didn’t feel like taking the drive, I did because overall the reviews were good. Once I arrived, I saw that it was crowded and was relieved because that meant the food must be food. So, I waited in the long line but once I got to the front the cashier stepped away. I was fine with that because she was busy. A man came and started speaking Spanish to two men who were behind me, taking their order, like I wasn’t even there (I’m a black woman). I said, I was here first and he just smiled. The men behind me apologized. Based on the encounter, I don’t know if...
Read moreOrdered from here on 4/24/2025 around 3pm or after and when I walked in I felt unwelcomed. The lady that took my order was wearing glasses and quite rude I may add. I don’t even remember her greeting me! She gave me a funny look like she wanted me to hurry up and order. I requested the 4 taco special, chips and guacamole and the birria quesadillas. So I waited about 10 minutes for the food and then remembered I didn’t tell her what meat I wanted for the quesadillas but she had already put beef which was fine. So I asked her when I get to the counter which meat did she add as I didn’t specify when I ordered and the lady was looking like I said something wrong. Just wanted to know what meat I paid for. These people have no customer service skills and it showed today. All they want is your money. Let’s get to the food not all that I thought it would be. Quite disappointing to say the least. Tacos which were beef had too much fat, the birria quesadillas with beef was the only thing really worth mentioning as it was good. The chips and guacamole were just basic and the guacamole needed salt as it had no flavor at all. Will I return to this establishment? Wouldn’t be my first choice and I will...
