Ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich today, no cheese, with lettuce tomatoes and onions added. The hot honey has a mild sweet heat that builds slowly as you eat the sandwich. The chicken was moist and tender, but the hot honey blocked out any seasoning that might have been in the breading on the chicken. While the hot honey was tasty, I wasn't able to eat the sandwich until 15 minutes after I had purchased it. By that time the honey had softened any of the crunch that might have been in the coating on the chicken.
Both sides of the bun had adequate honey on them so as to keep the sandwich from being dry. Adding the lettuce tomatoes and onions overall complemented the smoky bacon and made for a tasty sandwich.
Would I order it again? Probably, if I could eat it immediately upon receiving it. Otherwise, I would stick with the regular version without the hot honey, which if you get it freshly-made, is crispy and delicious.
Though I didn't do it this time, normally the only way I order from fast serve restaurants is to ask for it to be freshly made, and wait in the parking lot for 5 to 10 minutes for them to bring it out. Usually the difference is night and day between a freshly made sandwich and one that is coming through the normal sandwich assembly process. If you have the extra five or ten minutes, try it the next time you order from...
Read moreOrdered my usual Original Angus Burger combo. Burger was good and tasty, although heavy on the sauces, which is fine as that's the advertised Carl's way. The french fries were crispy and good... Better crisp than many others I've visited.
The Root Beer from the fountain was weak and tasted off (water to syrup mix was off). I mentioned it to the staff member that brought the lunch out and she said she would look into it. She came back later and mentioned she purged the Root Beer and said she didn't find anything wrong with it. I grabbed a refill on the way out and it was the same watered down Root Beer flavor. Much better mix at the Hillsboro Cornell Carl's Jr. location.
Staff was friendly and brought ketchup out with the meal and asked if I wanted ketchup...Much appreciated and very efficient.
The atmosphere inside was a little dark in the middle of the seating area, but much more light next to the window. However, the windows were filled with water from the winter rain and had water spots on the interior panes, indicating windows seals were no longer holding.
The parking lot is small and showing signs of low maintenance with hard to find parking lines and unsmooth surface.
Overall have had better experience at the Hillsboro Cornell restaurant and will likely frequent that one more...
Read moreThis location is short of mediocre at best. The guy that took our order seemed to be the shift lead. While ordering he kept assuming things as if to finish our order and was wrong every time. He also kept trying to add things we didn’t want as well. Kind of annoying to be interrupted while ordering and have to correct just to finish.
I must have ordered a burger they no longer provide but you would think management would train them to know more about the menu so they can provide an alternative without looking pretty dumb not knowing what we are ordering when it was on their menu before.
Half the dining area was closed, I’m assuming to prevent cleaning the area later. Interesting they don’t have condiments out so at the table when food came we asked for the usual, salt, ketchup and and buffalo sauce but the guy brought BBQ sauce not sure if there is a language barrier or maybe the guy was just not paying attention, kind of hard to believe since we were the only ones dining.
Been a while since I had fast food, the food is kind of the same but the help and service has degraded so much. People just don’t seem to be Interested in waiting on customers, funny thing it’s their only job to wait...
