Walters Cultural Arts Center — Attraction in Hillsboro

Really nice venue for our medium sized wedding and reception. The staff was helpful to the caterer to transform the room from wedding ceremony to reception. The space is clean and while they have a lot of rules, meet all of their promises. We were very fortunate to have Voila Catering from Portland plan and manage our wedding...from rentals to beverages, they took care of everything. We did a family style dinner and since the venue's kitchen was not capable of cooking for our large group, Voila brought a chef team and their own ovens and cooked all the food in the parking lot. It was my first time visiting the Center today, as a participant in the Hillsboro Plein Air Event. It could not have been easy to organize and orchestrate so many people all at once, but it was handled perfectly. Everyone was friendly and efficient and I loved the facility. Normally, art in "basements" doesn't look very good to me (it is usually it is too dark) but the art downstairs looked really good, well lit and carefully displayed. We were looking at lots of different places for our wedding; all we were totally sure of was that we wanted to get married on the Westside. Within a few minutes of our walkthrough of the Walters, we were totally sold. The venue was affordable, the location is super-accessible, the staff were great to work with, and the theater space was absolutely beautiful.
