Weāve driven by multiple times and decided to end our fun family day with some ice cream. It was my babyās first birthday and I was a little disappointed that they didnāt offer anything special for birthdays-I just figured for an ice cream shopā¦.but it was fine, I only wanted a tiny bit for him and my teenagers were ordering some as well. I was curious about the no sugar added strawberry cheesecake ice cream and asked if it was truly no sugar added including any artificial sugars. I was told that it truly meant no sugar added and that āthe sweetness you get is just from the strawberries that are in it and however sweet they areā. I know, I know. I shouldāve realized-thereās no way to make strawberry cheesecake without sugar but I tasted it and it didnāt taste like there were any artificial sugars in it so I trusted him. So, my baby had his first ice cream. I just got to thinking that Iād love to find this ice cream at the store so I looked into it and as it turns out, itās Umpqua and the ingredients include several different variations of artificial sugar! Iām so disappointed. I am very careful about what I feed my baby and wanted him to have a special treat and I trusted the employee to have the knowledge of what is in their ice cream. It may not seem like a big deal to some people and I may look ridiculous to others but this is a big deal to me and Iām truly upset that I fed this to my baby. I just hope this can be used as a moment to fully educate your employees about what is in the product...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit: changed our review from a 5 star to a two really based on tonightās experience. We have been to Jimās several times since we moved here and we have had decent customer service. We parked (only ones kn the parking lot) as it was around 6pm on a Tuesday and went to retrieve our meal from the restaurant next door before going to order ice cream the lady working came out screaming at us about parking. Not nicely asking us to move but belligerently screaming. I told her we were grabbing our food then coming to get ice cream. Because life is short why not have our ice cream first. She told us again screaming at the top of her lungs how weāre not allowed to do that. I would understand if it was super busy but it wasnāt. We said thatās fine we would move and just not return. After moving our car I went back over to tell her we were grabbing our food and coming right back over and her attitude was very unacceptable and we would be calling later about how she treated us. She lost it completely! Needless to say we will take our business elsewhere for now and hope in the future they train their employees customer service and how to be tactful with customers. Unable to post the photo I took of the empty parking lot with this edit. Very disappointing
We love supporting local little shops like this. Jimās has a wonderful little story to how it came to be....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDelicious! Plenty of flavors, toppings, and a variety of formats- milkshakes, in a cup/dish, cones, waffle cones, 3 levels of scoops, Sundaes w/scoop quantities 1,2,3 and banana and drizzled sauce and whip cream and so on. Yummy. The place is clean, plenty of napkins for your "messy marvin", tables and chairs in and out. Ooh, I was mostly focused on my choice of creamy fresh ice cream, but I also noticed some cakes in a refrigerated/freezer display case. Nothing is cheap lately, but the cost seemed fair.
I enjoyed the search for my flavor of the afternoon, the taste of the cold creamy chocolate w/sprinkles, and the time I spent with my family. Sweet treats make for sweet conversation. Thank you Jim's, we...
