I was legit upset at myself after finding out about this spot only a few days ago after eating at Pho Viet or shopping at Super Mercado for 5+ years now. Apparently this spot has been here since 2018 or so.
The issue is that it is “hidden”… you have the main shopping area with the parking lot, but Chen Fu is on the street side opposite of TV HWY 8, so it’s where no one would ever think to go unless you just know it.
As all the reviews say, the women working here are the kindest. Bright smiles to greet you and you just feel this genuine energy from them. I’ve come every day since finding out, so that’s 4 days straight of positive energy. It’s also a little Asian snack market where you can order some hit Asian snacks, and you walk up to the outside window to order everything…. I’m not sure if it’s always been like this or changed because of Covid.
Each time I order the regular milk tea with boba. And boy. This drink reminds me of my childhood spots in San Francisco Chinatown, where it was more powdered base and not the actual tea leaves that boba shops are doing now. (I don’t know if they are using powder or tea leaves, just my tasting experiences).
And it’s honestly my fav. That first day shot me back to good times. It’s milk tea with a hint of cocoa and their tapioca, though wasn’t consistent through the 4 days, does it’s job. That first day was ON POINT, right texture of chewiness mixed with the sugar. This last time was a bit more dissolved than chewy, but it was still good.
So why not 5 stars? The pricing was a bit high for my thoughts on boba. Now most spots charge about $6-8 now… and I am bias because I factor the nostalgia taste with something that used to be $3-4 back in the day. But something about it when I see $6.75, makes me pause. But I still buy it. I still kill it.
Check them out, best boba in Hillsboro that I’ve tried so far. T4 in Beaverton Bethany & Milk+T in Cedar Hills are my...
Read moreSoups , crackers These ladies make great bubble tea. They have Blended, over ice, Fruity, Fruity milk, coffee flavors, etc. Then they have all kinds of flavors of things to put in it. Boba Tapioca, lychee, mango, strawberry, and a whole bunch more. Their shop has a few tables to sit and in the good weather a table or two outside. They also carry a variety of other snacks including little cookies, different gums and chewys, soups, crackers and more. I haven't yet explored all their goodies. They make a point to remember their customers and greet each as you would a house guest. Their prices are reasonable; they take all credit/debit cards (even AMEX). It's 2 blocks from the park, around the corner from the Goodwill/Supermercado shopping spot & 2 blocks from the library. I highly recommend Chen Fu...
Read moreWe moved here recently, and since we have been looking for a new place to make our regular Boba stop. This place is hands down all of our favorites, and here is why.
Literally the nicest woman on earth runs the front counter...that alone deserves 5 stars.
I couldn't possibly find a better Passionfruit milk flavor to save my life.
My kids absolutely LOVE everything about this place, and the experience they provide.
Everything about this place is amazing, and I would HIGHLY suggest giving it a shot....you...
