Today we did the mistake of checking out Monte Gyro. This small place is run by two ladies who are both chefs. After waiting for one of them to leave the kitchen to take our order, we placed two entrees and an appetizer, samosas. The place seemed to get lot of online orders which are actually prioritized over the customers who are already there and waiting for their orders. One other thing to note is that this place is not meant to be dining in. There are no plates, you get served in to-go boxes. After waiting for them to prepare 4 online orders which got accumulated on the reception with no one to pick up, our entrees arrived. Food was not as tasty as I expected (subway pretty much uses the same ingredients for wraps but still has a unique taste which this one does not come anywhere near). and neither was warm! And our appetizer came even later to be used as dessert. So if you’re looking for authentic middle eastern flavors, prepare to be embarrassed (except their hummus! That was really good!). Also if you’re thinking about eating out for a change, please don’t! Carry out would be a better option as at least then your home entertainment will negate the blandness of the food! If there was a symbol for giving a negative...
Read moreWe experienced great service, great tasting fresh food, and a good atmosphere. The person taking our order at the front was patient with our kid deciding which drink to pick, he was also accommodating of my wife’s gluten-free diet, and he was open to modifying my order a little bit. The space inside is a little small but I think they have done a great job utilizing the available room for seating. The tables are sturdy and a couple of them are spacious enough for family seating; but space in general is limited. I think there is a lot of people who do take out at this place. But we enjoyed sitting and enjoying our food there. I in particular enjoyed watching their perfectly crafted selection of famous rock guitar videos from the 70s, 80s and 90s. I took the opportunity to talk my son about music while we enjoyed their delicious food. Everything felt fresh and seasoned just right. I definitely recommend this place and we consider it a nice find for those days when we want a quick and quality bite from the Mediterranean or Middle East. Note to management: please keep the music videos, and watch the time it takes to get the food out; not bad but could be improved just a little bit. Your gluten-free options could be made...
Read moreWe’ve ordered from Monte Gyro twice now for work meetings, and both times have been a complete letdown. You’d think after the first disaster they might’ve improved, but apparently, disappointment is their signature dish.
The gyros are dry, flavorless, and somehow both soggy and tough — quite the culinary achievement. The tzatziki tastes like it came straight from a jar labeled “generic sauce #4,” and the pita disintegrates on contact like it’s afraid of the food it’s holding.
Even the sides were sad. The fries were limp and cold, and the salad looked like it had been waiting for rescue since morning. The whole order arrived late both times, and everything was barely warm at best.
The worst part was the lack of professionalism by the delivery drivers, who succeeded in showing up late, while exhibiting an utter lack of reading comprehension when interpreting basic directions.
It’s one thing to have an off day, but two strikes in a row? That’s a pattern. I wouldn’t trust Monte Gyro to cater a lunch meeting again unless the goal was to make everyone appreciate vending machine food.
Save your money — and your team’s morale — and order literally...
