I’ve been craving wood fired pizza lately. My wife and I were returning to Hilton Head from a couple of hours spent in Savanna Georgia and it seemed like today was a good day to pick up a pie and some cold brews and chill at our rented condo in Harbor Town. After a short check online, Giusseppi’s popped up as a solid choice so we placed our order. We ordered the 16” Guiseppi’s Special and it was delicious. Of course in this post COVID summer, we had to wait nearly two hours for our pizza. Look, I understand we are living in challenging times when it comes to eating out and this requires patience but I would have appreciated a little bit of honesty in relation to the time it was going to take to make our pizza. The good news is that the pizza is/was good so all’s well that ends well. Guiseppi’s is popular so expect a longer than expected wait but after your food arrives, you can expect a positive experience.

I'm sure this place is generally good..but our first and only experience with this place was terrible. We tried earlier in the week to order take out from here and could never get through to talk to anyone. We tried again today and got through in first call and ordered three pies for delivery. See attachment for what got delivered. The pizzas must have either fell in the shop or during delivery. They completely fell on its side some where. I tried calling them to explain what we received..but no one answers the phone. After 40 mins of trying to call them, I gave up. At this point it will take the another hour after they actually pick up the phone. What's the point of having a phone number if you don't actually use it. Terrible experience. Again, I'm sure this is probably an isolated experience but for us, we probably won't come back to them.

Bad. I got the Chicken Penne Alfredo, and it tasted like they went to Kroger and bought the jarred Alfredo sauce and poured it on the pasta. Plus, the cubbed chicken had very little taste. Also, the bread was stale with little taste. I spent $18 for a meal that tasted really bad. I will not return to this location. I suggest to go to the other Giuseppis Pizza off of Shelter Cove (next to Kroger), their food taste much better.

We thought we'd try the Sea Pines location since we've been to the other a number of times. Turned out to be a $72 mistake. We seated ourselves, grabbed our own menus, and then waited six minutes before anyone spoke to us. Apparently our server was super busy doing something else even though she was not visible in the dining room not behind the counter, so another young lady brought our drinks. I'm a fan of teamwork, so that wasn't a big deal, but even after our drinks arrived, it took a few more minutes for our server to show up. The fare was mediocre; pictured are the Hawaiian pizza and the Buffalo chicken calzone. They were nothing to write home about, and if you notice the pizza, the toppings are literally in the center of the pizza so there is so much crust. My Buffalo chicken calzone came with marinara, which I thought was strange, and then I had to pay for ranch to replace it. My wife and sister both ordered sandwiches and both were okay. They both asked to substitute french fries in place of the chips, but once the bill arrived, they'd both been charged for the fries. Mind you, when I went back and looked at the menu, it says you can "add fries for $3," but it would have been nice if the server had made it clear. Anyway, my son's slice of cheese pizza was overcooked, but since two employees saw it and didn't seem to think it was out of the ordinary, I didn't send it back. I'll take the blame for a few things, but our money will be spent somewhere else on our yearly visit...

Disappointed with Tonight’s Takeout Experience

I ordered from Giuseppe’s Pizza in Sea Pines tonight — 2 pizzas and a 10-piece garlic Parmesan wings — over the phone for pickup. They told me 25 minutes, so I showed up a little early (20 mins) hoping to catch it fresh and hot. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the order was already boxed and sitting on the counter, ready to go.

I was excited at first, but as soon as I carried the boxes to my car, I could tell by the lack of heat that the food had been sitting for a while. My condo was only 8 minutes away, but by the time I opened the boxes, my instincts were spot on: the pizzas were lukewarm at best, and the wings were soggy, salty, and tasted like they’d been sitting out even longer.

Honestly, if it was just me, I’d probably let it go — but I was feeding this disappointing meal to my three kids, which is why I’m writing this review. For the price, I expected better care and quality. Fresh, hot pizza is kind of the whole point, and sadly, Giuseppe’s missed the...
