Starbird Spirits & Bites — Restaurant in Hilton Head Island

My family and I were very disappointed after coming to Starbird. We had a late dinner reservation across the street decided to go for a drink here over an hour before our reservation…we ended up being late to our reservation!!! When we walked in, the staff behind the bar looked at us and ignored us. It was our first time here and no one greeted us or told us we could sit anywhere. It took us over 30 minutes to get drinks!!! The bar tender was serving people drinks that came in well after us. While the staff kept apologizing for the wait and said it was due to “a rush”, there was only one bartender who clearly needed extra help. A Hidden Gem on Hilton Head!

Starbird is hands-down our favorite local spot for craft cocktails. The drink menu is creative and well-curated — the Black Saint and the perfect dirty martini with blue cheese olives are absolutely next level. The gin selection alone is worth the visit, especially paired with their homemade tonics (yes, they make their own!).

Shane and the rest of the bartending team are fabulous — welcoming, talented, and always ready with a great recommendation. It truly feels like Hilton Head’s very own Cheers bar — cozy, unpretentious, and full of friendly faces.

This is the cocktail bar we have been waiting for! My husband and I seek out speakeasy-esque craft cocktail bars whenever we travel. With surprisingly few true Craft cocktail options on our home island of Hilton Head, we could not be more thrilled with the addition of Starbird to our cocktail rotation. Father-and-son owners John and Shane saw a need, and we are so glad they decided to open such an amazing neighborhood, high-end, cool vibes, mixology-forward spot for spirit explorers like ourselves.
