I ordered a meal combination, with a side order of breadsticks. I went through the drive-thru to pick it up, and one young lady was training another. The trainee was very friendly and pleasant -- which is always a plus. I eat out very rarely (LIKE MAYBE ONCE A MONTH, IF AT ALL) so each time I come to Captain D's it HAS to be a real treat! I was so excited about getting the food, I didn't bother to even check my change or receipt; later after I got home, I noticed that I had been shorted one dollar in my change. (To some, one dollar may be nothing, but to a single mother on a fixed income, it's EVERYTHING these days!) I called the store and the manager, Mark Cortez, was really understanding and gracious. He explained that the employee was new, and I understood that. He told me that the next time I come, I could get a free appetizer to replace the shortage and inconvenience. I appreciate the acknowledgement, at least. I already am in love with the food, hands down! I have been a loyal customer to Captain D's for over 30 years, and this kind of customer service makes the whole experience even more worthwhile. Some restaurants you go to, the service may be lousy, but the food is just too good to stay away; so it's outstanding when you go to a place where the food is too good to stay away AND the service is nice and pleasant, too! Not always the case service-wise at Captain D's, but on this day and the last few times -- yes. It has really...
Read moreI went to the store to order and take out dinner for 4. As I waited on the bench I sat in awe over an employee named Erianna. It was amazing to see her in action. She was very nice and polite to customers without being fake. She was very sincere. The cook and his helper were a hot mess though. It was close to closing time and they just wanted to be anywhere but at Captain D's. She checked every order that came out. As she was bagging my order every dinner was wrong. I worked in management in fast food back in the 80's so I know there is a right and a wrong way to handle employees that are not doing their job right. She handled the problems so professionally but firm. She is a true asset to Captain D's and the restaurant is very fortunate to have Erianna. When she corrected the problem I asked for her name. I praised her working skills and told her what a great manager she was. That's when she said to me, "Manager? I wish!" I could not believe that she wasn't a manager of some level. Again, Erianna is a great asset and she should be promoted before some other restaurant snatches her up! Thank you for your time. P.S A manager nor employee should never publicly embarrass another employee. I see that quite a bit eating out. She handled the problem so well and I was very...
Read moreFirst of all I only have a limited time for my dinner break, so I went through the drive through. I was greeted right away and asked to please wait. 7 minutes later I pulled away and as I drove past the drive through windo the young man and lady working the front were both at the window talking to a friend. I continued inside to place my order and was able to do so fairly quickly. The wait here is always worth the fresh food coming out of the fryer, but to have the cook put up a plae and the two knuckle heads not see it because the girl told someone at the drive through to come to the back door and the guy is still hanging out the window talking is rediculous. I walked back behind the counter refilled my drink and the guy told me I couldn't be behind the counter. I told him then he needs to do his job and deal with the customers not his buddies. I got my food and left. I will never visit this store again. It's ashame because I grew up eating Captain D's and know the founders personally. This is exactly why this type of job dosen't deserve $15 an hour or anywhere...
