The Range Bar & Grille — Restaurant in Hingham

We went a week or so ago with our friends - four adults and four kids all together. It was okay. I can’t say I loved it and I didn’t hate it but it was nothing to write home about. The area it’s in seems quite new and well cared for and that vibe continues in the Range with a good mix of the historical thrown in. The food was okay, nothing remarkable but not bad. I had fish and chips which was pretty good, coleslaw was quite good in particular. The service was a bit ordinary. The server didn’t really check on us and we couldn’t see her if we needed to ask for something. At one point my daughter went to grab her own ketchup and a staff member looked at her like she’d just committed the ultimate faux pas! I mean, if our server had actually checked on us, that wouldn’t have happened. There didn’t seem to be any free refills on soda which seemed a bit odd given how much they charge. All in all, I don’t think I’d come back in a hurry, but perhaps if I was booking for a big group this would be a good place to come as there’s...

I've been to this local spot a few times. Parking is usually easy, they have a dedicated parking lot and you may have to circle a couple times during their most busy days and hours. There is an indoor and an outdoor seating area (I recommend outdoors if the weather is nice). If you have to wait for a table you can get a drink at the outdoor bar window or indoor bar. If outdoor you can stand around or sit in specific areas while you wait for your table. The menu is probably my least favorite part. The food is consistently good but I am not too excited about the choices. I've also talked to several other people that agree that the diversity of the menu leaves a few things to be desired. As far as cleanliness I would give this place a 10 out of 10 it's definitely clean and the bathrooms are kept very clean. 3/8/24, dinner around 6pm - it felt like kids night! Kids everywhere! We found it entertaining, some kids coming up to our table to stare at us (two adults, two kids ages 7-11), so that didn't bother us. The noise was just blaringly loud, definitely not an atmosphere you'd go to enjoy being with family when you're with EVERYONE's family. Food was good, order came in pieces/delayed, but hot and tasty. Service was sparse, got no refills on water, and only got checked on once immediately upon food delivery. Server memorized the dessert menu, and it was pretty good, kudos on that vanilla gelato thing they brought out.
