Okay, this is all the facts...
I really like Chipotle. I want to make that clear. And this is the closest one to my house and why I go here.
This particular location is in a so-called high-end shopping area. (Derby Street) You would think that this review would be better. But it's not gonna be so buckle up butter cup.
For the amount of volume this location does;
While they are preparing your food, they literally just shovel scoops of food onto your wrap or bowl like you were in the Army or worse prison. And if you happen to get to one of the portions of food that needs to be replaced, good luck... they will seriously scrape that metal bowl/container and give you all the scraps like you would for a dog. Before they call for a refill. There is nothing like asking for black beans and getting more black bean water than beans in your burrito. Oh yum...😋
Honestly, It's really off-putting.
Moving on....
The soda dispensing area... another pig stye... this is tucked around the corner out of view of any of the employees. Usually, there is ice, napkins, straws, plastic utensils, etc. everywhere. Management should think about moving it to another corner of the dining area where it is in clear view so they can monitor that mess. And the people that come in the side door and get free soda or refills.
As for the food... as I mentioned, I like Chipotle. I like all Mexican food in general. (Though a Mexican person wouldn't call this Mexican food).
They put these commercials on TV about how they cook everything fresh. Honestly, at this location, if I had the choice, I wouldn't want to see them do it. It is not prepared like in the commercials. These guys pack these super sized panini press things with chicken, and they have little pieces hanging out. It makes me wonder if the food is cooked through all the way. Then, while cutting it up to the tiny chunks that they just chop at it like a piece of wood. And then just scoop it up into a metal pan. Again, it's very off-putting.
Finally... I really don't know how 2 burrito bowls cost $40??? God forbid you want Guacamole... you need to take out a loan for that little tiny side of it.
So, if you can put all this aside like I do, to get my burrito bowl, you can try to enjoy it.
Good luck and enjoy!
Update: Thank you, Quadoba, for opening a store...
Read moreI went in tonight at 9:30 (they close at 10). Ordered a Sofritas burrito. Asked for guacamole and was told they were out. I could see guacamole on the prep line behind her (for online orders maybe) and asked, “isn’t that guacamole?” She told me “we can’t take from there.” I asked for pico de gallo, she said no. Olives- dramatic pause, no. Onions/peppers- no. I stopped asking because I could see her prep line was mostly empty and cleaned out already and she was making me feel like I’m putting her out by asking for normal items that they carry, but it looks like she’s already broken down her station. If they want to stop offering food at 9:30, just close at 9:30. I would have simply gone somewhere else. Instead I left frustrated and disappointed that I wasted time and $10 for a bean/rice/sofritas burrito. I had stopped there because I wanted a healthy meal with fresh veggies and guacamole after a long day of field work and having only a protein bar and an apple all day. Is it even worth eating a burrito without guacamole?! Not in my world. I don’t eat dairy so guacamole is a key component for flavor and creaminess. For what I ended up with, I could have just gone to Taco Bell and saved money. A former GM of mine at a fine dining restaurant used to tell our staff, “guests that come in at the end of the night don’t pay half price so they don’t deserve half-quality service or food; give them the same service you give your first table of the night and our cooks will cook them the same meals as the first ticket of the night.” Great philosophy and one of the reasons they’re a top fine dining restaurant in Worcester. If this Chipotle’s management protocol is really to not serve paying guests who come into the brick and mortar restaurant items they have available but are reserving for online customers who may or may not come to fruition in the next half hour before they close, that’s a very poor decision. In-person diners don’t deserve the same product as online orders? If I weren’t trying to get home to relieve a babysitter I would have pulled out my phone and ordered online instead. That’s how badly I wanted the guacamole and veggies that were right in front of my face that I wasn’t...
Read moreDefinitely the MOST DISGUSTING Chipotle I've EVER eaten. I recently recovered from what I'd definitely define as food poisoning. I don't ever get my bowls from this location, but my mom got me a bowl and I was hungry, so I had to eat it. While I was eating, the only source of meat I got was basically old, burnt skin of a chicken. The rice was undercooked and the lettuce was not fresh, so that was even worse (especially since I don't get lettuce when I order my burrito bowls myself.) While I was eating, I did feel a bit off, so I just stopped. By this time, it was too late. I woke up at like 2:00 A.M. the next morning with the WORST stomach ache. I got diarrhea but was finally able to return to sleep. At around 8:00 A.M., I got that sour feeling in my mouth that I was going to throw up and I did. I then had to take my seat back on the toilet and do my business there. I went to drink some lemon water to try and cleanse my body of the toxins that the Hingham Chipotle still has lingering in their food, but then I throw up again. For the rest of the day, I'm almost as weak as I felt when I had a weeks-worth of mono. I also pooped maybe 7 times that day as well. Don't even get me started on the next day. The diarrhea and throwing up continues. This is the moment when I finally realize what gave me the WORST food poisoning of my LIFE! I then have to lug myself to store to buy some Gatorade to restore my body of electrolytes and stuff. Anyways, even though I was an AVID fan of Chipotle. I WILL NEVER, and I MEAN NEVERRRR, EAT FROM THIS CHIPOTLE AGAIN. AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU! I think I'll take a break from Chipotle for a while, too, like I did to Panera after the supposed "caesar" dressing made me throw up, too. I returned to Panera Bread maybe a year and a half later, so I can guarantee that I won't be eating Chipotle ANY time soon. And that's a fact! (I'd give this zero stars, but hey, I'll give a star for two strenuous days of uncontrollable vomit and poo!)...
