Surprisingly good lasagna! Not what you were expecting either right? Super nice spot to chill outside with some pastries or cookies. Solid egg and cheese sandwiches for breakfast.

But yeah, I'm really surprised by how good the lasagna was. It was priced at $17 and the portion wasn't ginormous - but the quality and taste were better than a lot of other spots in Hoboken. From a pastry place.

As far as coffee goes, I have to figure out my order. Overheard a staff member mentioning they had the best iced lattes - so I ordered one. They pour the espresso over ice and then blend it - and then toss that over your milk or whatever. Wasn't bad - but, maybe call it something else. I still prefer espresso over milk on ice cubes. They do use lavazza coffee beans - those are pretty good.

Tough not to leave without some cookies - especially with the toddler shouting 'i want this one' at anything with a sign of chocolate on it. I'm personally a fan of the the tri color cookies (cakes?).

Overall fun spot - a bit of a trek for where I am in the neighborhood, but we'll worth it...

I had an extremely disappointing experience with both the management and staff at dolce and Salato. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that customer service is not a priority. They had these nice girls working there and all of them left, The new staff seemed disinterested, inattentive, and unprofessional. When I raised concerns, management was equally dismissive and offered no solutions or apologies.

To top it off, the coffee was below average — bitter and poorly made. I usually ordered an iced latte and received a watered down iced cappuccino. I am someone who’s been going there for years and am left so dissatisfied, I enjoyed talking to the last staff and all of them left. They seem to always be changing their baristas and fail to train them well. For a place that prides itself on offering a quality experience, it missed the mark in every possible way. I expected much better and won’t be returning. I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for good service or a decent...

2nd time trying to go here and another not great experience. For a Saturday morning the vibe wasn’t welcoming, they were understaffed .. no music playing, the pastry and cookie trays were half empty and looked left over from the day before. We ordered a cornetto, vanilla muffin - both pastries were okay. My husband ordered a cappuccino and I ordered an iced matcha latte to stay and enjoy - we received our drinks 10 minutes after our pastries were given to us in to-go cups. The Iced Matcha Latte was honestly disgusting - it was white there was so much milk, i wish i took a photo - I took one sip and threw it in the away, $7.50 in the garbage. I really want to like this place because it’s conveniently located but it’s never an enjoyable experience...

First, you have to know that if Misa is working (he’s in the photo), you NEED to order an iced latte from him. Trust me. He does some thing with the milk that just makes it absolutely magical without being sweet. Best. Latte. Ever. I’m a busy realtor in Hoboken and Jersey City. I have been in every coffee shop and every brunch spot there is. My boyfriend is a Home Inspector has been in even more than me. This place is our favorite go-to. I’ve liked every food item I’ve gotten there. If my friend is sick, I get a soup from dolce and salato. If I’m in a hurry, I grab one of their chicken Caesar wraps or any other pre-made food and feel spoiled eating it every time. And unsurprisingly, their pastries, gooooooood lord, they always make my day.

My Italian partner and I, visiting from Rome, stopped at this bakery today with a close friend for some pastries, coffee, and a chat. We were *so* pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. The pastries were great, and upon discovering a fellow Italian, the friendly owner offered us a coffee. Though not familiar to my partner, the 7-layer cookie was great. The chestnut-chocolate cake was delicious, and the pumpkin pie was lovely, too. The pasticciotti, cantucci, and pine nut cookies looked so good we took some home for our American family, along with another small chestnut chocolate cake. Highly recommend, with an Italian's stamp of approval. Bravi!!
