EDITED FOR SECOND VISIT!
Second visit: So I was craving some good pizza and thought I’d give it another shot. I wanted to eat by 7 so I called in my order at 6:10, and was given a 45 min wait time, completely fine. I go to get my pizza at 6:55 and they tell me it isn’t ready yet and wait outside, no worries fine. 7:20 rolls around, and someone comes out and says my pizza was just taken out of the oven it’s being cut. Not sure why it wasn’t done within the 45 mins I was waiting but it’s okay. 7:40 rolls around and I’m still outside waiting, no updates. 7:50 I finally go inside asking where my pizza is, and they told me my first pie burnt and they were making me a new one. I finally leave with my $45 pizza in hand at 8pm and they didn’t even offer to comp me for the inconvenience of waiting OUTSIDE in the cold for an hour past when they told me my food would be ready. It truly is the least they could do. There’s tons of good pizza in Hoboken that I will be eating from here on out.
First visit: Good pizza but not sure I’d dine in again. I understand they don’t take reservations and I went on a Friday, but the wait was an hour to get a table and they didn’t even call me when our table was ready, I impatiently went back to see if our table was ready and it was. Also, granted I was sitting by the door but I was absolutely freezing the whole meal. The dining chairs were the meal chairs for outdoor dining so my butt was ice cold the whole time. To start, we got the naked balls which were GREAT, and the focaccia and fried prosciutto which was not really focaccia and it tasted like bacon on top, wouldn’t order again. The pizza was great, but very greasy, and it took an hour to cook. We got the square one with pepperoni and hot honey and the flavor was absolute flames. Food was good but I’d get...

Since everyone had fled the NYC area for thanksgiving the cute outdoor seating was nicely empty. The heat lamps helped us pretend we weren’t eating outside in the winter and the BYOB policy allowed me to warm myself with copious amounts of red wine. The service wasn’t as good as the ambiance. We had to ask for utensils, ask twice for water, and there was a snafu with the bill.
The Accoutrements
We got the “naked meatballs” which wasn’t an 80’s adult film but rather a sauceless appetizer. Instead of marinara, you got a hot pepper and ricotta on the side. The meatballs had a rich meaty flavor that stood on their own without the sauce. The pepper and ricotta added a fun dynamic. The pepper left this lasting tingle on the tongue which you could cool down with the ricotta. Overall a more interesting take on the normal saucy meatballs.
The Main Course
The pizza is in their name and so it had to be good. We got a classic pie with mushrooms, pepperoni, and arugula. The stand out topping was the pepperoni. This was not your bargain been cheapo roni this was top tier rounds of red flavor. Speaking of red, the sauce tasted so fresh I started looking around for the garden they picked the tomatoes from. Grab a pie here and you won’t be disappointed.
The Verdict
Realistically this is 3.5. The service was 3 stars if I’m being generous. However, the atmosphere and food were a 4-star situation. Since I’m a glass half full guy I’ll round up to 4 stars. Your waiters might not be attentive but your taste buds will appreciate...
Read moreCame here last night with a group of friends for dinner. We ordered 3 pies around 6:30 pm on a Friday evening, fully packed in the restaurant. An hour and a half goes by and we were getting antsy waiting, so I asked one of the pizza boys to see how much longer it would be. He insisted it was coming out soon and when another half an hour goes by I said something to the “manager” girl who was answering the phones. I simply asked if it was normal for 3 pies to take this long and she said it was a busy Friday night, but said she was going to take one pie off the bill. I thanked her, as we continued waiting another 30 MINUTES (8pm at this point) for the pies that were “in the oven” at this point. At about 8:15pm we get 2 of the 3 pies (one was completely burnt on the bottom and both extremely hot) and still never got the 3rd one after we all devoured the first 2. I told her to forget the third pie at this point because we weren’t hungry anymore and didn’t want to sit in there any longer then we had. This girl gave me such attitude and tried to justify that it was just “busy” and nothing she could do about the wait. Meanwhile, all she had to do was show decent customer service and give us some bread or an appetizer to hold us over. We then get the bill for the two pies we ate, with the third one off the bill that we DID NOT EVEN RECIEVE. Very disappointing, as I was only visiting NJ and my friends were raving about the...
